Question about MSI M510C Notebook
When I turn on my MSI M510C notebook - I get this message ''reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key'' and cannot do anything else. I have tried using the recovery disks and everything, but can't get past this message. Laptop just stays on this screen and doesn't seem to recognise anything I put in the CD/DVD slot. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
Your notebook does not see the proper boot files on your C drive. Many times the boot.ini has been corrupted.
You will need a Windows XP Install CD mounted in the CD Rom. When you boot the system you need to choose the CD as the boot device (if the notebbok does not do it by default) then typr R to enter the recovery console. Once you get the C: prompt you will need to create a new boot.ini file using the bootcfg command. See the following website for details in using the Recovery Console:
