Does the engine run? If it runs the gear is most likely stripped out. Or it is the shear pins on the shaft. Gear can be replaced most are plastic an replaceable. Some are hard to find. Not hard to do just takes a little time.

My blades are frozen they won't turn

Disconnect the spark plug wire{s} for safety before doing anything else. Inspect the belt on the deck for binding or being out of position {not in the vee any more}. Check the linkage on the blade brake mechanism to make sure the brake is releasing when you engage the blades. Move the brake linkage to the free position, and check the resistance of the blade spindles. Look under the deck to see that the blades have not gotten bent by running into rocks, stumps, etc, and are not binding against the deck housing.

When I put the power take-off lever to the on position, the mower deck belt smokes and it appears that the right hand blade wouldn,t move

You need to remove the belt driving the blades and check to see if the bearings in the blade pulleys are not frozen which I suspect is your problem. If you find a pulley is frozen then remove the mower deck from the mower so it will be easier to access and remove the pulleys.

When trying to blend things like frozen fruit or frozen yogurt with the Vitamix, the blade stops moving, but the motor continues running. Even if there's only enough frozen yogurt to cover the blades, it...

Frozen elements are generally not recommended for blenders of any brand. They may cause the blade assembly to stop moving completely, or to "bog down," and this may eventually damage the motor. It is recommended that frozen fruits and/or yogurt be thawed when possible before placing into a blender. If this is not a possibility for you, I would use a "pulse" or "chop ice" function to rapidly spin the blades for just a moment. This will chop the contents in smaller, more manageable parts. This should be done before adding other liquid ingredients.

My B & D electric hedge trimmer blades are frozen

spray liberally with wd40, let side and hour spray rag with wd40 and clean blades and look for any bent teeth in blade that maybe binding them as u clean use pliers and screwdriver to move if any found, it is likely that wither sap dried or rust formed and is creating too much friction for blades to move wd40 will help free up blades
