These radios have a common problem, the caps go bad in them and all of them need replacing. if you are good with a soldering iron you can do it yourself. it takes time but it is fixable

Replace the 3 AA batteries that maintain memory & backup alarm function. That just may do the trick.

Buttons not working on Sony icf-cd7000

Unplug the unit and replug it after 5 minutes or so. Then Hold Down the CLOCK/DATE until a short beep sounds. If this beep sound cannot be heard, be sure that the internal circuit has some trouble, and has to be repaired. Normally, any other button get strucked, there will be no response with other buttons. OK.

Nikon D2X Not powering up anymore - shorted/blown DC board?

do a master reset, holding WB and ISO buttons down together for more than two seconds will reset camera settings.

then replace the clock battery, let it sit with no batteries for a bit.

try to plug it into an external power supply: EH6 if you have one.

Wont power up, power cord good. once plugged into laptop power cord stops working

As long as you are abslolutely sure the power cord is functional, without a more indepth analysis, it seems/sounds like the AC connection to the board is broken.

To rule out this conclusion as the failure point, see if you can borrow/buy or better yet, recharge your battery {assuming it has no charge left at this point}

Stick the charged battery into your rig and if it works, yes. The AC connection is broken - nothing a little bit of soldering won't fix.
If it works, will need to ask more 'protocol questions to narrow down the situation'.

...when you reflect on the usage of the laptop, is there a bit of manhandling when connecting the power cord? Do you run it mainly plugged into AC? Dell is infamous for dodgy AC connections strongly lending credence to a broken AC connection to the mobo.

The display does not work anymore.

Hi, Printer Has Blank Display Issue Description: Some customers may report that the control panel display is not working on their LJ2400 Series printer. Most of the units are right out of the box. This goal of this document is to help you troubleshoot the problem and provide a solution for the customer. Symptoms Customers will see: Printer powers on, motor rotation and fan sounds can be heard during boot cycle, but the control panel display is blank and there is no backlight . Printer prints engine test page. Printer powers on, motor rotation and fan sounds can be heard during boot cycle, but there is backlight . Printer prints engine test page. Troubleshooting requested by engineers: BACKLIGHT PRESENT, BUT NO TEXT DISPLAYS Disconnect all connections to printer except for power cord. Plug power cord directly into wall outlet and power cycle. Can motor rotation sounds be heard? Reseat memory DIMM in slot. Check cable connections on formatter ? particularly control panel power (J4), ECU-Formatter flat ribbon cable (J5), and power from the ECU (J6). NO BACKLIGHT Verify that the engine is powering up when power cycled by listening for motor rotation sounds. Ask the customer to print an engine test page. (See photo below for access to engine test page button.) If engine does NOT print test page, problem is with the engine, not formatter or control panel. (Service required.) Check cable connections on formatter ? particularly control panel power (J4), ECU-Formatter flat ribbon cable (J5), and power from the ECU (J6). Verify boot select jumper on the formatter PCB is installed on the bottom two (correct) pins (see photo below) to ensure the unit ?boots? from the firmware chip on-board the formatter. NOTE: The BOOT SELECT position (top two pins) is only used to boot from a FW-loaded compact flash card. If incorrect, reseat boot select jumper onto the bottom two (correct) pins. Attempt to print a configuration page ? ?back? button (x3, to clear any undisplayed messages) -- check button -- down arrow -- check button -- down arrow -- check button. If configuration page prints, verify contents and, assuming you find nothing wrong with configuration, you may assume that the problem lies with the display portion of the control panel. Dv6120us power button dont work

None of the buttons will work untill the power is turned on and no sound will be heard.
You might want to try charging the battery by connecting the AC adapter to the laptop and plugging it into the wall outlet.
With the AC adapter connected, try powering up the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Emerson Radio CKD9906

I hope this will help you, I just found the Users Manual to this Model online myself, as I needed info on setting the Alarm.

I am also going to upload the full Manual, just incase anyone else needs it.

Setting The Time Of Day

• Connect the power cord to your AC outlet. Make sure to use an outlet that is
always ‘live’. Do not use an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch.

• When the unit is plugged in for the first time the
display will show flashing “12:00” (AM).

1.) While the display is flashing, press the HR. button to set the hour. Be sure
to observe the PM indicator to set the hour correctly. If the PM indicator is ‘On’
the hour displayed is PM.

2.) Press MIN. button to set the minute correctly.

3.) Press the TIME button once. The time is set.
The display remains ‘On’.

Note: You may proceed to re-set the time again by pressing the TIME button
once during Power-off or CD, FM, AM, Buzzer modes.

Important Notes !!
If you press and hold the TIME button any time, the clock will change to
European 24-Hour format, and 12-Hour USA format.

Fixed power cord, clock works, doesn't heat

SkyKing, are you handy with a meter? sounds like you are losing a leg of power here. Check for voltage at the terminal block (where the cord hooks up. You should read, 120V from left to center, 120V from right to center and 240V across the two outer terminals. Check this first and post back. Catriver.
