If you found cold solder joints (open spaces) then yes, they need to be reheated with a 25 Watt soldering iron. Too much heat could cause a solder run whereby the lead composition spreads to associated components and causes a short circuit or burns out vital parts. Remember, if a board shows any sign of stress it can break or slightly crack at other points along the way. Usually, it is best to replace the defective board with a factory replacement if it is a reasonable solution.

There is a short on the video controller and when it heats up, the circuit opens and disconnects or what we call a short circuit. A technician can locate that point with his/her test equipment and do a repiair.
