Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Hi, my mother has a Canon MP270, recently she can not scan any documents with the scanner. Each time she presses the scan button on the top of the machine it says that 'The scanner driver may not have installed correctly. Reinstall the driver and then retry.' I have uninstalled the programme, then re-installed using the disk that came with the printer, still no joy. I then downloaded two separate MP driver "fixes" from the Canon Europe website, and still no joy, I then updated the drivers from the Canon website, and still nothing. I am at a loss as to what to do next, has anyone else had the same problems? We are using a Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit operating system and Windows 7 Starter 32 bit operating system. Thanks in advance. Laura
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: canon MP600 won't scan
i would say maybe first step os to unistall all canon mp600r software
includin scanning programs and reinstall them and see if it then works.
this might cure your fault but make sure you do it from the setupdisc
not the canon website.
Hope this helps

Are you downloading the correct driver?
You should install a full driver, not an update, because updates sometimes require that a driver is already installed.
If your system is Vista 32-bit, you should be downloading and installing iP1700 Printer Driver Ver. 2.00 (Windows Vista/XP/2000)
Name of the file: ip1700vst200ej.exe
Size: 4.29 MB
Go to to CANON support homepage for your printer:
Under the "Drivers & Downloads" tab, select your OS and then click the file link under the "Driver" section.
Read and follow the installation instructions in the next page.
Do not connect the printer to the computer prior to installing the printer driver. Do it only if and when the installation process tells you to do so or after it is concluded.
After installing the driver, you can also download and install the software for your printer and OS available from the software section of the downloads page.
For more insformation on how to install the driver and software, make sure you read the FAQS:
8. How do I install the software / driver - Windows?
9. How do I install using a downloaded driver?
To access this FAQS, click the "Support and Service" tab on CANON support homepage refered to above and then click on the 'Frequently Asked Questions" link.
