I set the coil to factory specs, I installed a new spark plug and set the gap to factory specs, I tested the new coil with a tester and the readings show that it is good, still no spark? The spark tester used is good I tried it on my power washer and it showed positive.

The magnets on the flywheel are stronge, they will grab any metal that comes close including the coil base, both magnets. I disconnected the shut off wire before buying the new coil and after still nothing.Very frustrating.

This is quite strange, unusual would be did you put flywheel back on correctly with key in place? Did you set gap on plug correctly, recheck your work an make sure that you are not grounding out somewhere. When you removed stop wire, take it from the coil side not off switch. This is very odd it seems that something is being overlooked. This covers about all there is to do. Start at flywheel I once saw a split key on crankshaft to flywheel that caused the same problem. I will think this over some more.

Change out the plug with a working one just to be sure its possible from package it is bad as well.

Did you check the gap between the magnet on the flywheel an mag? Unplug the stop wire an see how that works. Sometimes the switch is bad. Are the magnets on the flywheel, did you set the gap on the flywheel to mag correctly? Did you do the simple thing an change the plug they go bad more than anything else.

SOURCE: yard machine tiller won't stay started!

There is a small diaphram on the side of the carb that simply wears out. It's rubber coated mesh and the rubber coating breaks down and it stops pumping fuel into the carb. Sometimes you can run with the choke on partially, but it will burn 10 times the amount of fuel and cause more damage to the engine itself. I think it's about a $10.00 part.

SOURCE: Honda mini tiller stalls

Sounds to me like your main fuel jet is clogged if it will idle (different fuel supply) but not run with open throttle. When you open the throttle the engine gets more air and not enough fuel and quits.

Solution: Open (disassemble) the carburator and spray carburator cleaner through every orifice. Make sure you actually get cleaner THROUGH all holes. You've no doubt got fuel "varnish" in the jets from letting the equipment sit idle for long periods.

Prevention is the key: Always use a fuel stabilizer (Stabil) in your fuel. Mix as described on teh package for the "long term storage" concentration — generally double the dose of "normal" concentration and you'll minimize future problems.

SOURCE: fg 110 mini tiller by honda

I have had the same problem.
The first time the solution was to replace the rubber membrane underneath the primer bulb. Take off the bulb, then remove the plastic part underneath the bulb. There is a rubber membrane underneath that. The ethanol in the gasoline tends to deteriorate the membrane. The honda dealers sell them for about 14 dollars.

The second time the problem was caused by the gas cap, not properly venting. In this case the engine would start and run, but when I gave it full throttle, it would quit.
It got so bad that it wouldn't even run. I noticed when I loosened the gas cap it ran great.
So I took off the cap, removed the inner parts, and got a diaper in and pushed it though the holes in the plastic part underneath the cap, and through the rubber plug in the center. I did this a few times and check with my mouth to see if I could pull some air through the cap. When it breathed satisfactorily, I put the cap back on the gas tank and it ran great. Now it runs better than new.

Honda gc 190 starts then floods and stops. Wont start again till plug is taken out and dried then repeats same thing

Float level or a sticking needle valve, check float level as if it is adjusted incorrectly it can cause the main jet to allow fuel to flood through, the needle valve can do the same.

How do you replace the honda gc190 decompression mechanism

This is a problem with GC-160 and GC-190 engines on pressure washers, tillers, etc. Once they get some hours on them and as things seat in-wear in, they get to a point you can not pull the start cord. If you remove the spark plug, the engine turns easily. The valves need adjusted. The valves are set .005" to .006" off the seat. This allows enough compression release but the engine runs. I find the valves need adjusted every 25 hours, not the 100 hours Honda states.

I don't think my tiller is getting any juice to the sparkplug. I changed the sparkplug and air filter, checked the oil and gas, but it still won't start.

disconnect the kill wire on the motor and then see if you get spark. If so its your switch, if not it either points or electronic coil or regular coil or condenser problem did you gap the pints correctly and was there a problem b4 you changed the points.
