Hi antonette reynaldo, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?

Is this camera new? If not, when did this start?

Where is this blur? Across one whole edge? Is it a straight line of blur, or is it curved? Do you see it in the viewfinder, or only once the picture is taken?

Thank you. The camera is not new and it just started recently just a few weeks ago. the blur is on its side and I can only see the blur once the picture is taken. I think its auto focusing because sometimes I see no blur at all yet when taking pictures continuously the blur starts to appear again.

How much of the image is blurred, and is it a straight-lined area of blur, or is it sort of shapeless? Is it exactly the same every time? Is the blur on all sides, or just one edge? Does your camera have an anti-vibration (sometimes called "steady" picture or something similar)? If so, try turning that off and see if it helps.

The upper image was taken just a few weeks ago before the blur starts to appear (lower image). That is how the blur looks like. I think its a straight-lined area of blur. the blur is exactly the same everytime when taking pictures. the camera doesnt have a anti-vibration in its settings.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the sensor may be going out. It's not a simple fix. Your camera is not likely to be under warranty anymore, but it might be! Check your warranty length; if manufacturer defect service is covered, they'll have you ship it to them for repair. Even if it's not covered, you can check to see if the cost of repair is cost-effective. Do be aware that with the cost of cameras right now, it's usually cheaper to buy a new camera.

I don't have a repair manual but I can fix your LCD if you got one. If you don't have LCD, I got one to replace. Let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.

SOURCE: Windows 98 Driver required for sony cyber-shot dsc-w35

Windows 98 is not officially supported by Sony for the DSC-W35. You can find hacked versions on the web but they may not be stable. You can find a list of supported Operating Systems here at the Sony website. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSCW35&LOC=3

I would suggest trying to use the Windows ME drivers. Windows ME was based on Windows 98 so the drivers for most applications are virtually identical. I have used 8 different drivers from other vendors in situations like this and it worked out fine. However, please be aware that since it is not officially supported it can cause interoperability options with your Windows 98 system.

This is the best suggestion I have. By no means should you get Windows ME, it was one of the worst versions of Windows released. Lots of bugs and there are less drivers for this operating system than your Windows 98.

SOURCE: wont zoom in or out

Is this camera only have a digital zoom? If it has an optical zoom as well, you could have a setting that is set to ignore digital zoom and because your lighting conditions, zooming in and out is not currently possible because the aperture can not be opened enough to light you take a picture without being blurry. The auto focus would be taking priority in stopping you from taking a picture.
Just a hunch.

SOURCE: Cybershot dsc-w50 records movies instead of pictures

I had the same problem with my camera.  I found that changing the mode from Multi Burst to Normal allows the camera to take normal pictures.  Go to Menu and scroll over to Mode, then select Normal.

The auto focus on my Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 is working i guess because the most shots that i take come out blurred... Can anyone help me with a quick solution because i need my cam urgently!!

THE TROUBLE WITH AUTO FOCUS ... is that it doesn't work well under the following conditions:
  • When the subject is not in the centre of the picture (particularly when there are moving objects in the background)
  • In low light conditions
  • If there is a bright light behind the subject (e.g. a window)
  • When the subject is bright (e.g. a car with its head lamps on)
  • When the subject is of low contrast - walls, the sky
  • If the subject is made up of fine repetitive patterns
  • If the subject is behind vertical bars or a chain link fence
  • When another subject passes between the camera and the point of interest

Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 Camera doesn't detect the USB cable

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.

I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.

Sony DSC-W35 - No date imprint !

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. To print this, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
