You turn it on by pushing it's nose and if you want it to make music the pointy end's of the wire put in your music player and in your idog and the flat wire gose in your head phones and you turn it off by holding his nose for untill you here this barking noise and there's no dot in the middle and the dot's are the rythem of the music -jordyn

I can't get my techpet to wirk

Instructions
    • 1 Check that the iDog is powered on if it doesn't respond to your commands. Press its nose to activate the toy.
    • 2 Verify that the iDog has fresh batteries installed if the dog doesn't turn on. Use a Phillips screwdriver to open the dog's battery compartment, located on the its right back leg. Insert two new AA-sized batteries according to the "+" and "-" symbols listed in the compartment.
    • 3 Inspect the iDog's connection to your iPod if it doesn't move and dance to your iPod's music. Plug the iDog's connector cable into your iPod. The cable end labeled "B" gets inserted into the headphone jack on your iPod. The opposite end goes into the front left leg of the iDog.
    • 4 Make sure your iPod is powered on if the toy is connected to the media player and is turned on, but not moving to the music. Your iPod may need recharged by connecting it to a computer with its included USB cable.
    • 5 Reset the iDog if it continually freezes or stops moving in the middle of a dance. Use the tip of a pen, paper clip or similar thin object to press the reset button located on the bottom of the toy's head.

I lost the manual to my idog amp'd and don't know how to replace the batteries because i can't find the compartment

Under the iDog AMP'D "Backlegs" there should be two screws. Unscrew them (Lefty Loosy, Righty-Tighty) and replace the batteries with three "AA" batteries. Hope this helped!

How to charge a idog

You don't "Charge" iDog AMP'D, you change the battery pack located under it's hind feet. When your iDog does the intro when you turn it on every five seconds, that means it's time for some new batteries!

There are blinking lights on my idog and my sis said that they mean i am dum (ya right) but i think they mean stuff like the idogs FEELINGS.if i am right (not my sister) than PLEASE tell me! PS. also if i...

You ARE right. The i-Dog uses lights to tell you what it needs/feels. SAD, SICK,ECSTATIC, EXCITED, HAPPY, NORMAL, BORED, or LONELY.

I take it you no longer have your manual as it's in the back of that what the lights mean.

Idog makes ipod malfunction??

There a lot of products out there that claim to be made for the ipod and other mp3 players. Usually, there are different problems;cheap, thin wiring sometimes can break. There can be loss of audio on the idog or any other speakers like fold out speakers. Cool or not, they are usually not well made. I had what I thought was a really nice set of speakers. Heh, after I plugged in the first time, my ipod was cracking in the speakers and the ear buds. Even though they are cool, light up, and are (what you think is) a good brand, it does't mean that it is well made. I suggest an Apple iHome.
