Question about Dishwashers
My dishwasher flooded, however it continiued to pupmp water all night causing my kitchen to look like a swiming pool. What would cause this?
It sounds like the float is stuck. Look for a round disk on bottom of dishwasher ( inside) Push it down and lift it up to make sure it is traveling without getting stuck. It is suppose to rise and then cut off water.

Hi KellyW, The dishwasher drain hose may be clogged. When the dishwashr starts up can you hear the water running into the Sink faucet drain. If not inspect the hose that attaches to the Sink Drain for restrictions. Also in the bottom of the dishwasher you should have a filter. If this filter is clogged you cannot expel water. Clean the filter.

From the sound of things, your dishwasher drains faster than your sink drain ( via the garbage disposal) can drain it off.. You may have a problem with the way your sink drain/trap is vented and there is too much back pressure to drain down quickly.. When you run water from your sink, does it take a long time to drain down or if you fill your sink up and drain it, does it drain slowly ? That may be your problem.. Hope that helps.

**** the water out of the pan below the dishwasher, there is a float in the pan if you have a leak and the pan fills with water

These 2 things that may happen
1.- the cycle was interrumped
to find out if this was the problem let the dishwasher go full cycle with out opening.
If this won't solve the problem let do a cleaning because
sound like is plug.
