Encryption is a method of preventing unauthorized access to computer files.
When you apply encryption to a file, the file is altered so that it cannot be read by others, unless you have given them an encryption key.

Windows XP supports encryption through EFS, the Encrypting File System.
If you have encrypted a file on your Windows XP computer, but no longer want or need the file to be encrypted, you can remove file encryption by changing the file's properties in Windows Explorer. Locate the file from which you want to remove encryption in Windows Explorer.
Right-click on the file, then click the "Properties" link in the context-menu.

This opens a Properties window.
Click the "Advanced" button in the attributes section of the Properties window.

This opens the Advanced Attributes window.
Click to uncheck the box next to "Encrypt contents to secure data" in the Advanced Attributes window.

Click the "OK" button to close the Advanced Attributes window.
Click the "Apply" button in the Properties window, then click the "OK" button.

This closes the window and completes the encryption removal process.
Open Encrypted Files

Windows XP supports file encryption through EFS, the Encrypting File System.
You can encrypt files with EFS so that only you and designated users can open them.

You open files that you encrypted just as you would any other files.
However, you cannot open files that another user encrypted with EFS, and other users cannot open files that you encrypted, unless the user trying to open the file has been added to the list of authorized users for that file.

You can authorize users to open encrypted files using the Windows XP EFS management tools.
Click the "Start" button, then click the "My Computer" icon on the Start menu.

This opens the My Computer window. Navigate to the encrypted file for which you want add an authorized user.


Right click the encrypted file, then click the "Properties" link in the context menu. This opens the Properties window.

Click the "Advanced" button in the Properties window.
This opens the Advanced Attributes window.

Click the "Details" button in the Advanced Attributes window.
This opens the Encryption Details window.

Click the "Add" button in the Encryption Details window.
This opens the "Select User" dialog box.

Click the user you want authorize to open the encrypted file, then click the "OK" button.
This closes the dialog box.

Click the "OK" buttons in the Encryption Details and Advanced Attributes windows to close them. Click the "Apply" button in the Properties window, then click the "OK" button to close the window and complete the process.

Mostly this issue will be due to the temperory internet files will be full . So you need to clear it .

You can use the Upgrade option during Windows 7 installation, which preserves your files, settings, and programs, only if you're currently running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista and you want to upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 7. Similarly, if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, you can only perform an upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows 7. Hi,
We cannot simply open .bkp file. Use NT backup software and select restore option and select this file to restore.
This way u can restore the files backed up in this .bkp file.

Try re-installing uxcore.dll file.

To re-install UXCore.dll

To download and install a DLL file, you will first need to download the DLL file and register it on your computer.

Steps:

try and install the newest service pack, that will replace most of the windows files. if that doesn't work, you can use the extract command in the windows command console to extract the needed files from the windows cabinet files (*.cab) off the windows installation cd.

Once you have downloaded the file you are looking for you still need to make sure Windows or the program causing the error can find it. Follow these steps:

If you are replacing a file for another program, change the directory where appropriate. For example, 'regsvr32 \program files\Norton\xyz.dll'

If the file is registered correctly, you will receive a positive confirmation message.

It means that some files needed for windows to restart are missing,probably a system file or boot files. Some windows xp users usually re-install and repair their windows xp system using their original windows xp install disk and selecting the "repair" ooption. But another practical solution is to note down the missing file, then,on another PC using the same system,search for that file and copy, though you will have to note the folder location of that missing file from another PC. Boot your PC (the one that doesn't boot) with a system diskand on the command prompt (DOS prompt) copy the missing file from yourcopy disk to the same location where the missing file should be situated.

If the practical suggestion wouldn't work, then you have to re-install your windows on top of the current installation using your windows cd to repair yourwindows sytem, if this still doesn't then you have to install a new windows systemlocated in a different location in your disk, this way you still go to your saved files and backup your files.

When you rename a word file you need to keep the .doc file extension for it to open again in word. .xls for excel etc.

You may not have the file options visible in windows explorer. Go to tools > folder options > view and untick "hide file extensions for known file types.

If you mess it up you can open via windows explorer. Right click the file and choose openwith and select the appropriate program.
