- I have the exact same problem with my PowerShot A75 - when there is no memory card in place it turns on fine but when I insert a memory card and close the door tightly it is dead. Help!- GuestJan 02, 2008

z60...it may be an issue with the motherboard. Easiest way to find out...remove the card and battery. Let the camera sit overnight. Before placing the card and battery back in it....press the power button and hold it down for 15 seconds. Release it...put battery and card back in. If that doesn't fix it...you have serious problems.
