Either your monitor's cable is kaput or the display device feeding the monitor has croaked.

Can you test your monitor on another computer?

If it works on the other computer, then it would be your card (add-on or on-board) for the display.
If it doesn't work on the other computer then your cable should be bad.

Hi when i connect my asus pc to my tv to show a powerpoint it works for about 10 mins then tv says no signal and counts down from 5 mins why is this what can i do?

check your tv settings for standby mode. It may be set for 10 minutes to turn off if there is no tv signal like a power saver feature. It may not recognize the computer as a signal input. If I put my tv on a channel with no signal, it will turn off automatically after a short time. The same happens if I have it in video mode for the vcr and if the vcr isn't playing, after a short time the tv will turn off.Good luck

How do i get my thinkvison to get out of power saving mode

I do not know how many Thinkvision models are out there, but here is a site that offers manuals you can read online or download.
This is just a page from the manual I found. Here is a link to the manual I found. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/91948/Lenovo-Thinkvision-E54.html#manual
THIS MONITOR WILL APPEAR TO BE NON-FUNCTIONAL IF
THERE IS NO VIDEO INPUT SIGNAL. IN ORDER FOR THIS
MONITOR TO OPERATE PROPERLY, THERE MUST BE A VIDEO
INPUT SIGNAL.
This feature is designed to conserve electrical energy by reducing power
consumption when there is no video input signal present.when there is no
video input signal present. When there is no video input signal, this monitor,
following a time-out period, will automatically switch to an OFF mode. And the
LED will turn orange. This reduces the monitor's internal power supply
consumption. After the video input signal is restored, full power is restored
and the display is automatically redrawn. The appearance is similar to a
"Screen Saver" feature except the display is completely off. The display is
restored by pressing a key on the keyboard, or clicking the mouse. Lenovo ThinkVision E54 User Manual

When I turn my TV on, it comes on and says 'no signal' then after about 5 seconds, automatically switches its self off... any idea why?

Most sets will shut down very fast if no signal at all.

If you can before it shuts off try to change input to one of the rear audio video inputs that has something connected to it and turned on.

Failing there and if using a box of some type for signal--unplug it and the set both for a while---plug back both and let each try to boot up.

A total loss of signal or a glitch with the set or a box can confuse the TV set's Microprocessor.

Turning on and off all by itself

Owners Manual, Pg 18, TV Auto Function.
"If a video feed is connected to the TV VIDEO IN jack during the installation, that signal is used to trigger system turn on. Even when the receiver is turned off, the presence of a signal at the TV VIDEO jack will automatically cause the receiver to turn on. As long as the signal is present, the receiver will remain on. When the TV or other source is turned off, the receiver will automatically retrun to a standby mode within five minutes."

Try using a another video input.

Hi, I turned my computer on and the screen was black and said, VGA INPUT - No input signal. Then says monitor going to sleep. I have turned it off and check all cables then turned back on, but it says the...

If the computer is turning on but the monitor is not getting a signal it sounds like your video card is bad. Fairly easy and inexpensive fix. If you could supply the make and model of your computer I could let you know the card you need and supply installation instructions.

How do i switch my monitor to vga input?

Plug in the VGA cable to the monitor, and to the computer.

The monitor automatically determines which inputs have a valid signal source.

You can also set the monitor's source of video input to VGA, by going to the On Screen Display menu, and the Switch Video Input option.

Here is the User Manual,

I am trying to view my computer desktop on my lg tv, have an rgb input but can't get a signal from the computer?

If you have SVGA or Componet video output from your
computer here is what you should do.
Hook the SVGA Componet cable from the computer to
the respective input to your TV. Slect the input on your TV . Then reboot your Computer and it should automatically see the new monitor (the TV) and set the configuration itself.
in other words make sure the calbles are hooked up and then turn on the Computer if it's on already then
reboot or restart the computer.

While trying to change channels, my t.v. displayed ''no signal'' and then shut itself off. Now, when I turn it on, it says no signal and turns itself off after a few seconds.

Turn the television on and as soon as the screen turns on repeatily press the input button or change the input to whatever input you are using from a source device. As long as you change it to anything other than RGB.

Your television is essentially a big computer monitor with multiple inputs and a tuner. When using your computer and shutting it down the monitor will go in a power save mode. You don't need to shut off your monitor due to this power saving mode. When you power up your computer your monitor automatically turn on.

With the VIZIO and the RGB (computer) input the television will act just like a computer monitor. When you have a computer connected it will power down automatically when you shut off your computer. When you turn your computer on the VIZIO will automatically come out of standby mode. This is through RGB only.

This is normal operation for the VIZIO but can see confusing when nothing is connected to the RGB input. If you change your television input to RGB it will sense no signal on the input and will go into standby mode after about 5 - 10 seconds. If you were to send a signal to the television through RGB it would automatically kick on.
