You may need to find a service person to check this for you, but it sounds like you may have a micro-switch for the door that has gone bad. I have run into this a few times and found that to be the cause. What happens is the bad switch causes a direct short when you turn it on and that blows the fuse to protect the rest of the microwave. Hope this helps.

Works a few seconds then the fuse blows. model#JES13845F

Fuse holders sometimes become weak due to heating. If the fuse is not held very tightly by the holder, the fuse will blow because it gets hot, not because the current exceeds the fuse's rating. If this is the case, replacing the fuse holder would be in order. This is not to be confused with the situation where the fuse blows when the door is opened or closed. In that case it's a door switch sequencing issue, or a bad switch.

My Whirlpool microwave MT6120XEB-0 keeps blowing the fuse. Inststalled new fuse and display and timer works. Cooking blows new fuse. It turns on, makes grinding sound and blows a new fuse within a second...

You almost certainly have a shorted high voltage capacitor.

See the safety warnings and help information here.

Chances are you will have to remove the oven from the wall to replace it.

You can download Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Whirlpool microwave fuse has blown multiple times

It depends on which fuse and when it blows. Wish you had mentioned that.

But usually it's a defective door switch or door switch mount.

If the fuse blows at random times while it's cooking, it may just be a loose fuse holder. Those have to be replaced due to metal fatigue, not just squeezed tight with pliers.

If it blows as soon as you hit "Start" to begin cooking, you have a shorting high voltage capacitor.

If it blows when you open or close the door, you have a loose or defective door switch or latch.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

It jus stopped working as soon as i set the timer to 3mins jus light switched on for a second and its gone,,,i checked the power output in the plug point its fine...no burning smell and all...this oven is...

in most cases the reason for microwaves shutting down without warning is the fuse. in some cases the fuse will fail at its own fault. to test the fault we would do a tollerence test on the unit. but the best way for you to test it is to replace the ceramic fuse with another of the same value. if the unit works then its a faulty fuse. if the unit blows the fuse then the unit has a fault in the power supply that needs to be repaired by a service tech.

Fuse breaks when microwave is switched on

you will probably find that the fuse blowing is due to door switch adjustments, most unit have 3 switches 2 on the door catches and one that is crowbar protection. the 2 door catch switches are normally closed with the door open and the crowbar is the opposite. if they do not change at the correct time when closing nthe door the fuse blows
