I have a Panasonic KX-TGA652 dual handset no answering machine. The problem I have is the 1st handset "the base set", doesn't seem to work properly, the 2nd handset works 100% fine. The problem is this,...

Id try the following in this order:

  1. Try swapping batteries with another set and see if the problem follows the battery
  2. Try re-registering the handset, they could of missed one at the factory. that is done by selecting menu->initial settings->register handset
If this doesn't work, then return for warranty/exchange. Mine seem to work great right out of the box.

This question is in regard to the KX-TG5631 Panasonic Cordless phone. Callers tell me that my voice fades in and out while we're talking, to the point where they can't hear me at all. On my end, I can...

It is possible that the mic hole is blocked and the voice do not detect properly to be processed.
clean and check if not the mic might be faulty , use a new one and test as this is inexpensive. if not the preamplifier of the mic or the amplification stages of the mic is faulty.
A good signal test can prove corrrect.

Hard to hear on one of the handsets

we have the same phones, the volume can be adjusted using the key pad but only slightly the hearing overall with this phone is not so great you end up straining half the time to hear the conversation

Handset volume on Panasonic KX-TGA101S is too low

CLICK HERE for the user manual.
and HERE for the Base Unit
Pg 13 of the second manual designates how to adjust the handset volume.

The quick answer is to press TALK (or while talking to someone)...
Then, using the middle round button... press up or down to adjust the volume.

The sound from my speaker fades in and out, but the handset works fine.

Since this problem just started, I would first check to make sure there is nothing stuck inside the mic's port. Also, if you have a fan on in the room, that can also cause your speaker to fade in volume.

I say both of these because if the phone thinks you're saying something, your speaker will fade in volume. Whether you're talking or it's just air noise, the volume will fade.

2 Problems: #1Volume fades out. #2No caller ID on Call Waiting

1. move closer to base
2. you must have call waiting ID for that to work at all and most of these phones don't use it during active calls.

go to page 21 of the manual ("" if you don't have it) good luck!
