SOME ELECTRONIC CONTROLS HAVE A LOCKOUT FEATURE THAT IS ENGAGED AND DISENGEGED BY HOLDING A CERTAIN BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS. LOOK FOR A LOCK PAD AND HOLD IT FOR 5 SECONDS TILL IT BEEPS.
IF NOT AVAILABLE, THE TOUCH PAD MAY BE UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAIN P.C. BOARD OR MAY BE DEFECTIVE.
ALSO, TRY UNPLUGGING THE MICROWAVE FOR 5 MINUTES
TO RESET THE MICROCOMPUTER, THEN PLUG IT BACK IN AND SEE IF IT WORKS.
AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET NOT WIRED WITH PROPER POLARITY OR NOT GROUNDED CAN AFFECT ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES ALSO.

Downstream of the main 20 amp breaker in the upper right hand corner, is a miniture 4 amp fuse in an inline fuseholder. I replaced this and so far, so good

no the control does not come off from behind.
what you will find is the top vent grill has to come off first. it has 2 phillips screws that hold it to the top of your unit.
you will find 4 screws on the top, go ahead and take all 4 out and then pull the grill out from the top and hinge outward to remove/ once the grill is off, then there is 1 more phillips screw that holds the control board/ touch panel to the frame. remove and then lift up then out on the panel.
now that you are into the unit, make sure you have UNPLUGGED it first. the fuse is about 1 1/4 inch long white ceramic material with metal ends. you can find a new one at a radio shack or get one online for your unit. r/s has them for cheap and if that allows the unit to run again, great, but...
there was something that caused the fuse to go bad. so dont be surprised if you need a diode or capacitor to fix why the fuse went bad.

There are two screws in the vent cover (grille)that goes across the top remove those and the vent cover and you will see one screw in the top of the control panel remove that one, grab the panel slide it up and pull at the top,it hinges downward toward you and will stay there till you get the wires marked and removed from the board.

Testimonial: "TomZS - thanks, you were spot on. Four screws in the top on this model. I was able to get at the control panel. Sadly there was no obvious failure."
