Question about Washing Machines

Will not spin or rinse; timer advances slowly

Frigidaire Affinity ATF6000FS1 front loader will not do a rinse or a spin cycle. Timer does not seem to work right either. Advances one minute about every five. Will not leave the wash mode. A thirty minute PP load went 45 minutes without ever going to rinse. Tried doing a spin only but just made noise. Tried unplugging and plugging back in and still did not work. During the 45 min wash the time went to "Pause" and door unlocked. After waiting about five minutes I pressed the start button and wash cycle continued. There seems to be no resolution to this. Repair could be costly. Thinking of going back to old fashioned top loader as this machine has had a mold problem ever since I have owned it no matter all the precautions I have taken. Not sure if machine is worth the price of fixing. Sounds like an electronic and/or mechanical problem. Ideas? Thanks

IF there is an E attached to the 45, it is your control board and the control board would need to be replaced. This is per the "Washer Tech Data Sheet"Hope that helps...

Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000E Front Load Washer won't stop spinning with 1 minute on timer- it continues until I hit cancel. I don't like to babysit a machine but have to make sure it doesn

If the unit is washing properly, as far as you can tell, but it won't stop spinning, then I would have a professional look at the control panel and timer to be diagnosed because there seems to be in miscommunication.

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

The timer on our front loader is moving very slowly, and the tub is not spinning

HI, this is a defective timer motor. have it replaced asap. A defective timer can disrupt the wash cycle, and even stop it as well. this will also effect the efficiency of the unit as well.

Have to change cycle manually

Reason? There shouldn't be one. Seems you're extraordinarily unlucky with timers. Mine's 10yo, never broke. The timer is a standalone part, it's not dependent on any other parts for its longevity. So there can't be any other parts in the washer 'killing' it.

Are you handling it gently? Turn it slowly when setting, don't whip it around.
