Not sure if you had this resolved, but if 3 of your neighbours have the same issue, then rather than the unit being at fault maybe you should have the voltage in the street checked.

If you have a low voltage, not sure exactly but in the 110V area, then the compressor will not start and unit will thus defrost. The fact that you are getting the alarm at 4am would indicate that problem is in te evening as it has to be at 15 or above for over 2 hrs before the alarm sounds

SOURCE: Viking Pro VCBB36 -warming up + alarm

Over the past several years my heat alarm would come on, first time I called a PROFESSIONALLY, he told me to unplug for 24HOURS, than start it. The solution worked for two years, just happened again, unplugged it for 24 hours, and it seems fine. My guess it must need to defrost. Good luck!

Why would my fridge and freezer cool and freeze on bottom and not on top?

More than likely the cooling coil (evaporator), located in the freezer is blocked with ice due to a failure in the defrost system.

What does the alarm high temp mean?

Could be a failure in the defrost system and the cooling coil (evaporator) is blocked with ice, causing a lack of air flow. If this is not the case, check for a failed condenser fan motor. This motor is located near the compressor.

Kenmore side by side refrigerator model 596.50009100 not cooling.

I would make sure they fan on the bottom that cools the condenser is turning easy way to test is. Put a fan in front of the fridge blowing under it if it starts cooling that is now working right

hi.defrost unit completely first 24/48 hours. or until there is water on drip tray above compressor.then turn it on .if it works it means your evaporator is freeing up.if it is the same it could be lack off refrigerant.good luck.ali

High temp alarm goes off in the middle of the night even though temp feels fine

Got the manual? The alarm should be able to be just displayed, with the buzzer muted.

The high temp light is on. What can I do to reset it? Everything seems frozen and fine in the frezzer

HIGH-TEMP ALARM SWITCH (SOME MODELS)
An audible
alarm will sound if the freezer temperature reaches
unsafe levels. The alarm operates on household electricity. If
the power
fails, the alarm will not perform.
An ON/OFF switch
allows the high temperature alarm to be
deactivated if desired. NOTE: You must open the
freezer door to
view the alarm switch. The
freezer is shipped with the switch in
the OFF position.
After the freezer has run longenough to
lower the temperature, you
may set the switch to the ON
position.
To activate the alarm, set the switch
to the ON position.
To deactivate the alarm, set the switch to the OFF position

i got this from the freezer manual from Kenmore hope this was helpful

I am not sure if I have the same model, but the VIKING fridge that I purchased in Chicago is a stainless steel bottom freezer design that is horrible. I paid alot for it and it looks great on the outside - like a pretty girl that has nothing to say.....The alarm goes off constantly and tonight the freezer wasn't working! This thing is not even 5 years old and my GE fridge in the basement that I use to store drinks for the pool and things that I don't want to spoil is probably 40 years old (I got it from my parents and has NEVER been a problem). What is up VIKING? Where are your engineers??
