Weber Silver Genesis C regulator purging gas after reset process

I reset the safety valve to eliminate common low heat problem on Weber Genesis Silver C. Now the grill reaches higher temp, but the regulator is purging gas through the vent? Does this require a new regulator, new procedure?

This could be caused by a couple of problems. First the regulator could be bad, or the tank is getting to hot. Which causes the relief valve to open and release pressure. This will happen when weather outside is hot.

My grill does not heat beyond 300 degrees.

Hello,

Check the excess flow safety device, which is part if the barbeque to cylinder connection, may have activated. To reset the excess flow safety device turn all burner control knobs and the cylinder valve off.
Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to high. Wait at least 1 minute . Turn burner control knobs OFF. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder. turn cylinder valve slowly. I HAD THIS PROBLEM JUST LAST NIGHT AND FIXED IT RIGHT THEN.

Weber Genesis Silver B Grill lights, but does not heat

Perhaps. There is a built in safety in the regulator. It is there to stop the free flow of gas in case of a leak. Of course there could be a leak but more than likely it's a case of lighting the unit without taking very sure basic steps.

Be sure you turn off the gas tank and the valves. Then, only open the first valve (do not open the others at all yet) and then light via the switch. After the first bar lights up wait perhaps ten seconds and then do the next two. See if that helps....it does for me.

Low and Slow heating to temperature on grill

Hello,

Here are some tips:
Check: The excess flow safety device, which is part of the barbeque to cylinder connection, may have activated.

Fix: To reset the excess flow safety device turn all burners control knobs and the cylinder valve OFF. Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to HIGH. Wait at least 1 minute. Turn burner control knobs OFF. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder. Turn cylinder valve on slowly. Then use your like you normally do.
Now the line is purged.
