The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

I attempted to hit the self clean button but received a F9 beeping flashing error until I unplugged the range from electricity. How do I stop this F9 error?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
Error F9 means Latch unlock lower and is displayed due to obstruction in door lock mechanism. If after cleaning the door lock mechanism the problem is still there then replacing the door lock mechanism is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Hello,
If this is an Electrolux oven then F9 relates to micro-processor resets itself. To get this to reset fully its reccomended that you disconnect the unit from the electric supply and then reconnect then retry.

Hope this helps

My kenmore range. I set it to self clean and when it was finished it started to beep continuously and displyed F9 on the screen along with dr. even if the door is open or closed it still does this and says...

The F9 code is an indication of "Door Latch Motor Assembly". It's usually one of a couple of things that cause this:

First, UNPLUG the range and remove the back access panel. The assembly is located in the very back of the range. You'll see the wiring going to it. Check to make sure none of the wiring is shorting to ground. Sometimes it can get so hot on those wires that have been heat-cycled so many times that they can melt and short out, usually to the metal shell. Also take a look at the actuator rod. Those will sometimes freeze or jam up as well.

I hope this helps! :)

I have a similar problem with my electric Frigidaire convection oven, which flashes ERR F9 and beeps after finishing a cleaning cycle; if you haven't had to have it repaired professionally by now you might try cutting the circuit breaker to the oven for a few seconds and then turning it back on. My oven takes a few minutes to reset, after the circuit is turned back on, but then will unlock the door and let me reset the clock and continue cooking as normal. . . until the next time I set the clean cycle.

Have you tried to unplug the range for 5 minutes? That may reset the programming that is going on.
