If it,s only on this actual game, i,d suggest cleaning the disk itself. FF7 was virtually glitch free.
another way to resolve this, is to play the game right up until it crashes-glitches. 10-20 seconds before. go to the nearest save point, and make a save. re-load the game and see if you go past now. The PS2 has a limited video memory.
On ocassions the memory can be overloaded with graphics info,
My Tip-Trick for cleaning the disk.
1:- put the disk into an old CD Jewel Case. ( so that the underside is facing upwards )
carefully inspect the disk for scratches or debris-fingerprints et,c.
put a small amount of washing up liquid into a small bowl, and add luke( hand Warm Water )
using a soft cotton or lint cloth, dip the cloth into the solution, and wring out. cloth should be dampened not soaking or dripping. Wipe the disk from the inner ( centre edge ) outwards.
Step 2:- wipe the disk with a dry clean cloth ( I find the yellow Duster type Cloths Are Ideal ) now breath on the disk, and polish ( buff up ) with a soft clean cloth.
This should now give you a playable games disk.
If you still can,t get it to work, try a laser head cleaner.
Or e-mail me, for my address. send me the faulty disk and i,ll repair it for you.
Hope this sorts you out.
