Samsung Refrigerator won't keep food cold

My Samsung refrigerator is a piece! I have had it for 2 years, and the repairman has been out 3 times. It won't keep food cold at all. I can't even buy groceries becuz they go bad so quickly. So, there is a lawsuit against Samsung right now because of this, only HOW DO I FIND OUT WHICH REFRIGERATORS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS LAW SUIT? People in New Jersy started the law suit. I would like to know so I can be compensated for all my wasted time and money too.

Your condenser coil is frozen up with condensate...need to fix the defrost system, most likely it is the control sub module.

Mine kept doing the same thing- the flap between the freezer & the frig is getting stuck. I finally just broke mine off & left it that way. Now the frig is really cold, sometimes things partially freeze- but that is better than going rotten. I now have a section under the water/ice dispense tray bubbling/peeling the white paint off. Mine is 6.5 years old & out of warranty, so I'm searching for a way to repair this problem. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: your ignorance is the problem

The magnetic door gasket is sold at any hardware store. It's sold in a roll that has an adhesive backing on one side, you cut it to fit. Hell, I'm looking at them on Home Depot's web site right now on my desk top, (typing on my laptop), and looked at Lowe's site, they also have them. I'm going guess and say that a stupid minimum wage store clerk probably told you they didn't have them. Now you're wasting my time, don't bother replying, I'm done.

-2 although below freezing temperature, is not really enough to keep food really frozen. I am presuming we are talking in Celcuis. You need to set the freezer to a lower setpoint.

SOURCE: samsung refrigerator freezer not freezing

I just returned the same fridge to Lowe's where I bought it using the warranty for the same problem. The temperature sensors went out, and everyone said the computer board needed to be replaced but no one could seem to get it together enough to order us one. Month later we are getting a new fridge.

GE Profile refrigerator does not get cold enough to keep food. The compressor is humming but even after having it plugged in for 3 days it has not frozen anything or kept any of the food cold.

Could be the t stat not shutting the unit it runs all the time untill it freezes the evaporator in the the freezer then it runs and runs and gets hot...or if it has had a compressor replace before..the freon level what not put back in thr right way..meaning its overcharged, or undercharged..this will also do this...The coils are dirty under the unit...

Hello TraciK,

It is likely you could fix it YOURSELF
for less than the cost of your ruined food...
(we can do this).

Refrigerators... while divinely simple... are self
sufficient (noble) appliances that are designed to
take care of themselves. Clean them, love them & they
will serve faithfully for DECADES...

ELSE... comment me back (I do love'em).

I have a '94 Amana.. Counter depth, STAINLESS,
water/ice door service...
(the only appliance that survived our "kitchen refresh")

Likewise mine also DOES NOT have a DEFROST TIMER...
but an electronic PC (printed circuit) CONTROL BOARD...

so count yourself "LUCKY" ...

NOT only are your parts available... but
reasonably priced... (see below).

If you "refrigerator" has been UNPLUGGED for
three days... (and I am right) it should run NICELY
for a week or 10 days... before FAILING on the "REFRIGERATOR" side...
(frosting up... blocking AIR FLOW).

You are most likely suffering from a DEFROST
circuit FAILURE.

Not unlike the simple TIMER the DEFROST circuit
operates 2 or 3 times each day...
(about 45 minutes).

As the entire interior of your "FRIG" is soft
plastic... going above 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit
could/would case serious damage to your
REFRIGERATOR'S soft plastic interior...

Ergo... your defrost heater is under the
control of a DEFROST THERMOSTAT... designed
to go "OPEN" (no connect) at temperatures
above 55 degrees (room temp (chilly))...

This is ENOUGH to melt frost but not affect your
food... nor cause damage to the soft PLASTIC

To test for DEFROST issues on a single EVAPORATOR
refrigerator (yours)... you need only look through the vents of one that has been running a COUPLE of WEEKS.

You will likely see an EXCESSIVE build-up of FROST.

/If you look into your defrost pan... it s likely quite DRY...
Testing with a clean, fresh piece of typing paper ..
would QUICKLY leave water marks on a fresh [piece
of paper...
(Same as testing for a leaky valve under your sink).

((a single drop will QUICKLY mark the paper)).

There are only 3 parts to YOUR defrost circuit:
- Defrost PC Board
- Defrost Thermostat
- Evaporator Heater element

The only other (REMOTE) possibility would be the
AIR-FLOW is being blocked by a bad "DAMPER"
(also has video instructions (see below)).

Part: PC Board (WPW10503278)

Damper Control (part number WP67003903)

Happy hunting!

Freezer/Refrigerator tempurature swinging wildly

The compressor is overheating and not starting. Could be just the start relay. If this happens again try unplugging it for about an hour then it should work for a while. Heat between doors is normal this is an electric heater designed to keep the doors from sweating. You just noticed it because the refrigerator wasn't cold.

I've had my Samsung RS267 LASH side by side for almost 2 years now and the coils froze recently. The temperatures displayed - relating to the refirgerator side - bounce around when the coils freeze. My freezer thank goodness is still working properly. The repairman indicated that the heating element for the refrigerator coils was bad. Unfortunately he had to order the whole unit (coils, heating element, etc.) since he couldn't replace just the one part. Samsung takes their time sending the parts - we've been waiting for 10 days now. The Samsung warranty covers the compressor, evaporator, condensor, drier and connecting tube for 5 years parts and labor so we should becovered. You might be covered as well - depending on when you purchased your refrigerator. I did purchase a separate extended warranty from Lowes when I bought the refrigerator and I'm glad I did. My extended warranty included $250 in food spoilage covering our food loss due to the breakdown. Hope this helps......

Power Cool button works on freezer , but not fridge

He Alisonki! I was having the same problem. On mine the water coil inside the refrigerator keeps freezing which keeps the water from circulating and my refridge won't stay cold. I was told by one repairman that it was a computer problem and you have to order parts from the Samsung Manufactuer which takes about 2 - 3 weeks to get. I am tossing mine and buying a more reliable brand. One repairman came yesterday and left without fixing anything or charging me. Larry
