SOURCE: lost power supply

Hi,

If the desktop charger is the version that can accommodate two radios simultaneously similar to the T5000, then the AC wall adapter or the power supply is 9 volts AC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How to Make an AC DC Converter?

warning - AC voltage is fatal if touched .
stops you from staying alive when touched !!

cheaper to buy already made and safer.

You would need to know the voltage the phone needs ?
Is it USB powered you could buy a usb ac- dc adapter
Then you may need a transformer , a rectifier circuit with power diodes and then filtering electrolytic capacitors, and then a voltage regulator chip to get the exact voltage needed. And then a plastic zippy box to put in into so as to not have fatal consequences.

No visual lights on display, but vcr works

Displays have their own power supplies if you are referring to a Floro tube. The two things that happen to them is the filaments come lose and due to poor soldering and in some units there were DC-DC converters that converted 12 V to 35 Vdc for the segment drive section of the tube. First is to inspect the filaments terminals usually two of them on each end of tube- this might require taking the front panel off and then the front PCB out of the unit- a job for a Technician. If these are soldered well and they usually are not due to wave solder, then check for AC voltage there 4-6 Vac then on to the DC-DC converter and check for 0-35 Vdc. The failure of the DC-DC converter is often times Electrolytic caps going bad after so many years- 20 years ago I was already changing a lot of them on Hitachi decks. It is a well know problem Now with so many more years gone by the rest of the power supply now becomes a thing to check all voltages from.

What is the power output of ac dc adapter in jensen jta 460? Can this adaptor be changed with 220volt ac dc adapter with required dc output?

For Any Adapter:
As long as the Voltage and Power output of the power supply (wall outlet or other) matches the input requirements for the adapter whether 110V or 220V.at enough amp output; and
IFF the dc output of the adapter is exactly the same voltage and has for amps at a minimum matches the maximum amperage requirement for the input of the device, any of them will work, as long as it has the right connector with the correct polarity needed for the device!

Or, in other words...

Supply Output V = Adapter Input V
and
Adapter Output V = Device V
Adapter Output A(min) >= Device A(max)

3115cn power supply

"Low Voltage Power Supply" in a laser printer usually means the AC to DC power supply in from your wall outlet. The "High Voltage Power Supply" is often in the center of the printer and provides the high power required for imaging internally.

Lost or misplaced power supply for Beyond Micro Micro Model BMMDU2 External hard Drive. Need info on Wattage input. Please and Thanks if you're able to hrlp.

Well, looks like Beyond Mico web site has gone to the great Beyond.

From units I have been able to find online, it looks like the power supply is between 20 and 40 watts.

The hard drive unit itself should be able to supply you with the required DC input voltage (hopefully there is some kind of label on the enclosure).

You could try one of these or something similar. It comes with 6 interchangeable heads and has adjustable DC voltage. This is just one of many available.

http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-ACD477-100-240V-Voltage-Adaptor/dp/B000Z31G3M

I cannot guarentee any of these supplied heads will fit your particular drive (same with the dc voltage). But some local retailers often have these types of adapters and you might be able to determine what size you need by looking at one.

I have used DC units similar to these in the past when I have lost a power supply.

Hopefully with a minimum of effort you can get a working solution.

I have a rhodes 660, and it doesnt trun on. all u hear is a buzzing sound. does anyone know whats wrong.

This is LIKELY a power supply problem. The unit should have a label telling the power requirements. Match the polarity on DC units as well as the type AC od DC and voltage and current.

I suspect the input voltage from the supply is way lower than the required.

No Power

Dear Sir,

I assume, you have voltmeter with you.
Set VOM to DC 20 V range.
Remove the Power Supply from cabinet. Be sure you have proper earth in your house/workshop.
On the 20/24 pin main connector of your power supply, short the pins carrying green & black wire.
Hook your voltmeter -ve on any black pin of the connector permenantly.
& then connect the mains power cord to your power supply.
If your power supply is ok, this shall start the fans of the power supply on & running. Now you can check the voltages on different pins. There is a sticker on your power supply showing the normal voltages on every wire.
If you don't see any / normal volatges, your power supply needs repairing. You can buy a new one/ repair existing.

Got flat screen as a gift

This monitor requires a power supply with a POSITIVE tip polarity.
Monitor requires 12 Volt DC @ 3.3 Amps output.
Make sure voltage is 12 Volts DC [absolute requirement]

Power Supply can have greater than 3.3 Amp capacity. More amp capacity increases price, so I wouldn't go for more than 5 Amps [minimum 3300 milliAmps, 5000 milliAmps will be more than adequate].

Put a surge protector on your computer and monitor to extend their life....better yet, a power conditioning battery backup system, that can supply constant voltage, to compensate line voltage when A/C, furnace, or other major appliance kicks on.
