SOURCE: No Audio

Hello,

I have a friend with a systemax, same thing happened to him.

Go into the control panel, select sounds and audio devices, go over three tabs to the audio tab, make sure the sound default device is the onboard audio card. Should be all set.

Let me know how it works out.

SOURCE: pc does not go beyond Lsass.exe application error

Try getting into safe mode, by taping the f7 or f8 key before it boots. Once in safe mode we can do a restore to the last restore point, and go from there. If you can't get into safe mode, let me know and we will go into the bios, set the machine to boot from the dvd drive and use your xp disk to boot her up, this method id too much to post here, let me know and we will take it up only if needed. Also try this, turn off any user accounts that the computer has installed other than your administrator account, and let me know what happens

SOURCE: I have a Systemax Venture computer that is 3 years

Hi there.
Remove all power to the desktop, remove the side panel, power the machine up and check that CPU fan is working, if it is turn the computer back off, get a clean, dry paintbrush and gently clean the fan blades and the metal heat sync behind the fan of dust, then restart the PC to see how long it stays on for. If this time it stays on it was overheating.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!

Yes you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 8, depending of the age and specs of your computer it might run slow, you will need a minimum of 2Gb of memory to run Windows 8 at a decent pace.

Try Windows 7 Enterprise FREE for 90 days download the ISO

moz-screenshot.pngStill using Windows XP Professional for me its still Microsoft's Crowing glory thats until Windows 7 came along.

If you are unsure about upgrading then why not download a 90 trial version from technet available until 31st December 2010 in ISO format.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/evalcenter/cc442495.aspx

(takes about 3 hours at 124 KB/sec)

What you will need;
Don't delay if you don't want to get left behind Microsoft will stop supporting XP by the end of 2010, this means that there will be no more offcial service packs; updates or patches provided.

How to Install Windows 7 from USB Flash Drive

what if you don’t have DVD-ROM and you are running Windows XP, you might have guessed in this case we can’t install windows 7. Since Windows 7 ISO size is around 2.24 GB so its obvious that you will need to burn windows 7 iso on DVD and another issue is you can’t start windows 7 installation by mounting ISO file on windows XP as Windows XP upgrade to windows 7 is not allowed. In such situation installing windows 7 from USB pen drive is feasible solution.
Here is small guide on how to install windows 7 from USB flash drive or USB pen Drive for Windows XP users.
How to Install Windows 7 from USB Flash Drive Requirement:
USB Pen Drive (Min 4 GB)
Windows 7 ISO (32 bit or 64 bit)

MBRwiz Download and Extract it on your hard drive (Diskpart utility for Windows XP doesn’t detect USB drive as Disk hence we need to use this free utility to make bootable USB drive).
1. Connect your USB Flash Drive to your computer Format USB drive
2. To Format USB Flash Drive Go to My Computer -> Right click on USB drive and select Format from context menu.
3. Now go to Start Menu->run->cmd (Open Command Prompt) and Type following command
convert i: /fs:ntfs (Where “I” is your USB drive latter)

4. Mount Windows 7 iso as drive (You can use Freeware MagicDisc download from here).
5. Type Start->run->cmd
Now dir to directory where you have extracted MBRWiz and run following commands

mbrwiz /list (note down disk number of your USB Pen drive)
mbrwiz /disk=X /active=X (X is Disk Number of your USB Drive)
exit
6. Now open another command window and type following command
J: (Drive letter of Windows 7 iso mounted with demon tool)
CD boot
bootsect /nt60 Y: (Y is drive latter of your USB drive )

7. Now copy all files from drive where you have mount Windows 7 iso
8. Now reboot your computer and press F9 to get your BIOS screen and select USB drive as your boot drive.
9. If every thing goes fine, Your Windows 7 Installation should start from your USB drive.

How do I recover or repair bootini and bootsect for Windows XP Professional after uninstalling Windows 7 Ultimate?

It's good that you have the recovery cds. Do NOT reformat the hard drive. Restore with the cds so you'll have a clean install . You will need to have any software cds that did not come with the original pc in order for them to rebuild the registry entries. That is the easiest way because there won't be any left over files from Windows 7 after you restore to XP.

I have ask you already how to install the dual boot os(Windows xp and Windows 7 ), but i don't complete yet .Can you explain to me again step_by_step in great detail ? because when i install windows xp...

Hello, this is how I dual boot my laptop with windows xp and windows 7

1. Backup all you important files, use an external hard-disk if possible
2. Make sure you have two drives or partitions: usually drive C and D
3. Insert your xp cd, do a quick format of drive C and install
4. Boot into windows xp and format format drive D if necessary
5. Insert your windows 7 DVD and follow the prompts. When it asks you to upgrade or new install, choose new installation
6. When you are asked to choose a location choose drive D
7. Complete your windows 7 installation
8. Thats it, you can now install drivers and programs

When installation is complete you will see both os options: windows 7 and previous version of windows (i.e xp)

I have done this numerous times without the need for any other step or software. The only rule is to is to install xp first, then windows 7.

All the best

I'm running windows xp professional how can i upgrade to windows 7 and which version of windows 7 is better for me

Hi, You can't do a direct update from windows xp to windows 7 you will need to perform a clean install. This means you should backup everything on your computer as when you install windows 7 this information with be deleted. I would recommend windows 7 home premium as the best windows 7 for most people as it has everything you will require. Windows 7 Ultimate is more expense but gives you nothing of note extra.
Hope that helps.
