Miracle Mate Platinum. Why does it get hot & turn off?

Carmen,
Sounds like the motor is overheating possibly because of a clog or maybe a filter that needs to be cleaned. Make sure you have a new bag and clean all the filters and hopefully that will take care of your problem. Hope this helps!

The canister motor will not come on but the power mate motor does. Is there a reset button/circuit breaker for the canister motor? There was a clog but that has been resolved. Bag and filters are new.

There is no reset button. You've fried the motor. If both the power nozzle and canister motor didn't work, one might suspect a fuse.

Why is the red bar still showing when I've cleaned both filters?

If you hear the motor running you have to have an air leak. Check all areas where parts mate together or anyplace where there is a gasket on the mating surfaces.

Owners manual for kenmore power-mate # 116

Greetings from GoVacuum,

I wasn't able to find the manual for the Kenmore model, however I did find the instruction manual for the corresponding Panasonic canister vacuum cleaner. Your particular Kenmore model is actually made by Panasonic for Sears, and then Sears puts the Kenmore name on the vacuum cleaner. They are identical internally, and have the same parts and components, besides the filter that is behind the bag. Sears makes Panasonic put a specially designed filter in the Kenmore's so that the customer has to go back and purchase that filter from Sears.

To download the instruction manual, please visit the link below;

You can also find a parts schematic of the power head below if you need to purchase parts;

Kenmore vacuum model 25614 power mate will not reset

What you see from the outside is usually a pop up button which sits on top of the actual internal switch remove the lid of the power mate as though you are cleaning the brush roll or changing the belt. Then test the reset internally. Post back to advise .

Our Hoover floor mate won't **** up the water. Motor runs but pick up is limited.

you will need to replace the squeege that is located on the nozzle. 3 screws will take it off. you can get this at a vac shop or order it from the company, filter may also need to be changed

My floor mate won't pick up the water.

Make sure the plastic hood above the filter is seated properly. Mine was not there at all! I left it on the counter after cleaning. Oops.

Model 116 hose clog?
Posted by rfrazelle on Jun 23, 2008
My old canister model 116 followed with numbers 2839580 marked Kenmore 3.9 with power-mate, worked fine until the bag got overly full. I have changed the bag, cleaned the filter, and removed a nasty hair/fur/dust clog :-p from the lower metal tube of the power mate. It now has very weak suction and won't pick up anything. I suspect a clog in the grey plastic flexible tubing attached to the canister but cannot get it apart. Advice?
RJ

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Kenmore 22313 Bagged Canister Vacuum. The best way to find a clog in an electric hose is to use a steel ball or a large marble to place inside the hose and to let it so threw as far as it can to determine where the hose clog is. Once you have determined where the hose clog is then you can use a small end of a broom handle of take an old wire coat hanger and place a hook on the end and try to pull the clog out of the electric hose – the electric hose is very expensive so try not to damage the hose in any way, shape or form. Or another way is that id you have another canister vacuum you can try to pull the clog apart by using two vacuums turned on and running. If you are successful then run the round marble or steel ball thru the hose again and the clog should be cleared.
