Trying to find heatsink unit to be able to use the board

Hello here is the intel homepage:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+945+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D945GCZ

Your mainboard is using the LGA 775 socket.

The heatsink fan looks like this:

The fan can still be bought in a computer store, online shop or a repair shop.

I will recommend to but a better fan, like the brand northq, because the standard fan is difficult to mount correctly on the mainboard.

Remember to add a bit of cooling paste on the cpu, before you mount the fan.

Good luck

My old heat sink and fan have screw in attatchments and the new on has the plastic pop in and 1/4 turns. Help?

Your old heat sink and fan probably works just as as good or better than that stock Intel fan and heat sink. If your computer case does not allow access to the rear of the motherboard you are going to have to remove the motherboard to pull the back plate that was used to attach your old heat sink and fan. To install the Intel fan turn the pins until the screwdriver slot is perpendicular to the fan shroud (the tip of the arrow is furthest out), then push in any 2 opposite sides at the same time into the motherboard. You will here them click in. Repeat for the other 2 pins.

My pc is getting automatically switched off i checked my smps and its working fine.i got intel i3 processor and mother board DT55C

Intel makes so many claims that their processors won't overheat, but they do overheat. If yours is fan cooled, then check the fan, you may just need to replace it. if it's liquid cooled, check that. I don't know much about liquid cooled. I hope this helps.

Noisy fan

You need to replace the fan. Measure the fan you have now and buy one the same diameter. Then remove the old fan and put in the new fan.

Intel Cpu Fan ReWiring

Here is the pinout for the wiring:

Pin Name Color 1 GND black 2 +12VDC yellow 3 Sense green 4 Control blue

In case this doesn't show...Black is Ground and Yellow is +12VDC.

Not sure if it will work w/o a Sense (Green) and Control (Blue) line though.
