Hello

Replacing the color wheel on a Samsung DLP television can be done at home, once a compatible-sized color wheel has been bought from a TV supply store.Replacing the color wheel yourself will void any Samsung warranty that might be in place, but is the only solution for getting the TV working again in as short a time as possible.

Put on the anti-static grounding strap to keep static electricity from damaging the internal components of the Samsung TV. Turn the Samsung around so that the back is facing you. Make sure the Samsung is unplugged from the AC socket.

Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove all of the screws from the back panel. Put the screws aside. Pull off the back panel.

Loosen the two screws from each side of the projection bulb's case. Pull the projection bulb out. Put the projection bulb aside. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws from the left side panel. Pull the side panel and the circuit board attached to it out carefully and put it down so that the cables attached to it have not been pulled out.

Take a picture of the power cable's position with the digital camera so that you can put it back correctly later. Pull the power cable out from inside of the Samsung's case so that the center panel is free to be pulled out. Remove the two large headed screws from the center panel with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the top two screws holding the panel to the plastic case using the Phillips screwdriver.

Slowly slide the center unit out a few inches. Take a picture of the projector lens' positioning with the digital camera so that you can put it back correctly later. Unplug the two cables from the left side of the center panel. Unscrew the sensor switch using the Phillips screwdriver. Slide the center panel completely out of the Samsung and put it down on the clean cloth. Blow off the color wheel assembly with the compressed air.

Use the tweezers to remove the green plug from the top of the color wheel cover. Use the tweezers to remove the two cables at the side that are coming from the color wheel. Use the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver to remove the screws from the top, front and back of the color wheel cover. Slide the color wheel cover straight up to expose the color wheel.

Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the color wheel to the color wheel assembly. Lift the color wheel up and out of the color wheel assembly and discard it.

Position the replacement color wheel in the color wheel assembly. Reassemble the color wheel and reassemble the color wheel assembly. Put the color wheel assembly back into position in the rear of the Samsung TV. Reassemble the Samsung TV. Plug the Samsung TV back in for power. Turn the Samsung on and enjoy seeing the colors displayed properly again now that you have replaced the color wheel.

PLEASE NOTE;
Check the Samsung's user manual to make sure that you can open the case without causing any damage to the components inside.

Because harmful electricity inside of the Samsung can hurt the person replacing the color wheel, do not do this if you have concerns about being shocked.

I need to replace a Sanyo 509J24A speaker for a RCA T19408 19 in. TV/VCR Combo

Hello
If the size and impedence is correct, you can connect the speaker to RCA TV. Impedence of the speaker will be printed on its magnet. A little differnce in impedence is no matter at all. You can use between 4Ohms to 8Ohms speaker. OK.

Dear Sir, In my aiwa tv there is no audio sound (,two speakers ) how can i rectify the problem, Pls any one help me to sort out the issue. Rgds, Jayaprakash.

Hello
You just check whether its speaker has damaged or not. You can check it easly. Just place your ear very near to the speaker side of your TV, and switch on the TV with its panel on-off switch, not by remote hanset. If you hear a "thumb" sound from that side of the speaker, you can make sure that the speaker is OK, and the fault is inside the circuit board of Tv.
If there is no "thumb" sound, open the TV and check the speakers for continuity. You can check the speaker with a troch cell, by touching its poles to the leads of the speaker, with attaching a pice of wire to the cell. If it is found faulty, replace them with an identical type and resistance, Its impedence [resistance] will be marked on its magnet. Choose an exact one.
If speakers are found Ok, and still there is no sound, if your TV is equipped with an earphone socket in front panel, push in an earphone pin into it, and check whether there is sound output from it or not. If there is sound output from it, and you can't get it through speakers, the earphone socket is faulty, and replace it.
if there is no sound from the earphone socket also, just goto the sound output section of the circuitboard of your TV. You can locate that section by following the speaker wire. Look for any loose soderings first. I advice you to resolder all the soldering points of sound output Ic, before replacing it. After resoldering, still there is no sound, check the input supply voltage of that Ic. If it is not there, check for the reason. if it is there and still no sound, sound output Ic is faulty, and replace it with same type and number.
If you need anymore assistance, get me through Fixya. OK.

No sound

Hello

First you check the speaker of your Daewoo Tv. To check the whether the speaker is good or damaged, place your year very close to the speaker side of your TV, and switch the TV by its front panel power switch, not by the remote control. If you can hear a "Thumb" sound from the speaker, as the TV is switched on, the speaker is good and you have to to further. If not speaker has got damaged and have to be replaced.
If your TV is provided with an earphone or headphone socket at its fron panel, insert a earphone or headphone pin into it and listen whether there is sound coming from it or not. If ther comes the sound, it doesnot comes to the speaker, means that the headphone or earphone socket is faulty. Replacing it will solve the problem.
If there is AV OUT from your TV, connect it to an amplifier or so to get the sound. If there is sound and no output from speaker, means the Audio Output IC inside your TV is faulty.
Just locate the audio output Ic, and replace it with same type and number. Audio Output IC can be easly located ans speaker wire goes to that section, and follow the speaker wire. locate it. If you need any more assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. OK.

Hi barry546,
The replacement of the speakers on an LCD should be easy. If the speakers cost you $40 and you can save on labour by DIY then is still cheaper then buying a new TV.
What's the model number of your LCD?

There is no volume on the tv, the volume bar goes all the way to 99 but there is no sound, i plugged in external speakers it worked but the tv volume is not working. How do i fix this problem?

Go into your Audio menu on the TV and make sure the TV speaker are set to “ON”.
If the external speakers work when connected to the TV and the TV’s internal speakers don’t work when you remove the external speaker’s plug from the TV, then you will need to replace the main board.
The main board has all the function for the audio for the internal speakers. This was a known issue for some of the LG TV’s. So if you call LG about this issue, LG may fix it under a warranty.
Good luck.
