It sounds like you have a loose fitting trunk lid, in which case you will have to loosen trunk latch and adjust it so it can seal tighter on weather stripping

My remote start stopped locking my trunk when I lock my doors. So I have to lock it with the key. How can I fix it back so the remote locks the trunk as well?

Hi Tamika, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Tamika, I'm not sure what vehicle you have but, there are only 2 styles of trunk lock actuators. (1) Is built into the latch itself and if you have this style the latch will need to be replace. (2) The other style will have a rod running from the latch over to a lock actuator, with this style you'll need to replace the lock actuator. NOTE: With either style, you'll first need to make sure you have power and ground to it, and if you have both power and ground then it needs to be replaced. If you do not find either power are ground you'll need to find out why and repair that problem. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website here:

Door lock icon on my car dash will not stop flashing

Try from another door or trunk locking then unlocking. If it still does not go out then take door panel off and inspect door latch and harness

Tailgate door wont latch

IT sounds like you closed the Trunk/ Liftgate with the Latch partway closed. Lube the Latch and hopefully it is not bent. If it is not latching, you can try and ensure it is aligned propery (use a piece of Tape and see where it is hitting the STRIKER...

If not, you are going to be replacing the Latching Mechanism.

Trunk will not stay locked

I would suspect a faulty latch. You may have to have it removed and examined.

My trunk latch won't open and I want to know how to access my trunk from the back seat.

Your trunk latch is coupled with the rear door lock, push the door lock down then lift it up, do not use the auto lock/unlock. It should release the trunk lock, I had the same problem.

1996 lincoln continental door latch does not lock/unlock door from inside or outide...door stays open basically...door latch has no response, unlock/lock switch works

I have the same problem.(Door will not stay closed) The door latch itself seems worn to the point where the linkage from both the actuator or door handle causes the latch to get stuck. I can free it with a screw driver applied where linkage connects to the latch, but it will stick again. Dealer wants over 300 with actuator. I am looking in junk yard for part. Remove door panel, somehow disconnect linkage from latch. It makes more sense to remove 3 hex or star screws 1st (27mm) so latch will be more accessible. My problem is the door latch, not anything else. Good luck

Power door lock, driver side only, does not work in my '95 Sable

if you here a noise that should mean the little motor (door lock actuator) thar works the door lock is getting power to it and it should be ok. sounds like when you changed the inside latch you must have disturbrd/disconnected the linkage or the clip that connects the lock actuator to the latch assembly(the female V-SHAPED mechanism that engages the POST/STRIKER (male part) its a little hard to name these parts so i am describing them to you. look insidethe door and see if you see any threaded RODS OR LINKAGES that are not connected at both ends.the noise youre hearing is most likely the door lock actuator "spinning"up and down but its unable to lock or unlock the door latch mechanism.

Latch of trunk won't open.. lots of clicking noise.

Had the same exact trouble. Changed the relay #36. Check the owners manual pages that show where all of the fuses/relays are. The fuse box for this relay is in the trunk area so I had to crawl in cuz the trunk wouldn't open. Good uck...hope this helps
