Question about Sony PVW-2600 VCR
I've got a 2600 and 2800 that won't power up. Can I use the same type of power cable that I would on a computer or is it special?
Yes, standard P18 or IEC type power cord same as a desk top PC.
These SP's get leaking capacitors in the switching regulators. No longer available from Sony but can be repaired if not too much electrolyte damage.

Yes - the power cord will work in either deck. most likely problem with the decks is one or more defective power supplies in the decks.
