Hi, I figured out the problem. The gear transfer case between the augers must be broke. The auger spins slowly until it hits snow and then stops-- The discharge fan continues to spin fast. I will try to get a local handyman to fix it or else but a new machine, this one must be at least 15-16 years old.
I thank you for your help, it is a great service. ojohn

First take a look at the shear pins they will be located on the augers going thru the auger and auger shaft, if they look ok then you need to take the belt off, with the belt off try to turn the im peller by hand. If the impeller does not turn then you need to look to see if something is stuck in the impeller or in the auger. If nothing is stuck in between anything then I would have to say it's going to be the gear box. If the impeller turns then look to see if the auger is turning also while turning the impeller. If the auger doesn't turn then it's probably the gear box. If it does turn then you have an issue at the pulleys

SOURCE: Do I have to split
No. If you have someone squeeze the auger handle, that will allow you to remove the belt. You'll need to do the same to put it back on. Make sure to put the belt on the bottom pulley and not over one of the belt guides otherwise you will end up replacing the new belt also.

SOURCE: unable to remove hub 02438900
I also had this problem. I actually pulled the ears off of the hub using 2 different pullers. I ended up heating the hub and hiting the shaft through the hub with a small sledge. It took 45 minutes. Then I tried to remove the impeller from the shaft. Not a chance! Both pins out but it would not budge. This is a customers machine and it needed a gearbox. I'm going to end up putting an impeller on it as I can't get it off the old shaft.
