Is it never switching off? There are no "standard" electronic controls, each maker has different ones.In what way is it not working, exactly?

I would recommend calling a technician in that case. So difficult to diagnose faults like that over internet!

Hi I lost my manual to my westpoint tropical chest freezer, and wanted to find out how the fast freezer switch works. Does it mean when i switch it off the freezer goes off? or is it just a switch to help...

Hi
Normally a fast freeze button is just that, it turns the compressor on permanently to freeze things down quickly.
I suspect that your run light is linked to the thermostat, and does not indicate that the freezer is turned off but that the temperature of the freezer is above the temperature set on the thermostat and the compressor is running to bring the temperature down. Once the temperature is at or below the thermostat temperature then the compressor will stop and the red light probably goes out, indicating the the freezer is at the right temperature.
It won't go out with the fast freeze on because to freeze food quickly the thermostat is by-passed and the compressor runs continuously.
Hope this helps.

Frigidaire FFU14F5HW Hi-Temp alert. Checked thermistor at front panel pins 1 to 2, reading was 162.8K ohms. Removed panel to check thermistor, then put it in a cup of ice water-now reads 32.1K ohms. P

Check the internal temp with a thermometer. Anything above -12c will give you the hi alarm. Check the condenser is clean and drier not too warm, no ice build up inside the evaporator and all fans working properly etc, before suspecting thermistors.

The temperature keeps on rising. everything inside is melting. does not freeze anything. fan and light is working.

Turn it off, defrost it for a couple of days """""with the door open""""", restart it with door closed and see if it starts freezing again after about 2-3 hours, if so, then the draw unit works, that indicates the defrost cycle needs to be reset or one of the defrost elements has failed causing the rest no to do anything. the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier. My fridge freezes everything

If the temperature outside the refrigerator drops below the temperature inside such as in a non heated garage the things in the refrigerator will freeze. Short of moving the refrigerator to a temp controlled place there is not much you can do about it.
