Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White

Open Question

I have a Model FEFB68CJSA Frigidaire range that has a constant F1 code that won't silence.

The clock and lock lights on the control board are lit and the clock won't program. The oven door lock constantly rotates when the door is closed, but stops when it is open. I have metered the micro switches on the lock shaft and they check out OK. Is the door lock relay in the control a hard-wire relay that could be frozen in the closed position that would keep rotating the lock motor? I wonder what conditions are necessary to satisfy the limits for the lock motor to stop. Could a bad temperature sensor or oven cleaning command lock up the control logic. I have tried numerous times to interrupt power for various lengths of time but the clock flashes for a few minutes then goes into the F1 mode that can't be silenced.

Good Afternoon Gary, I see that you are having trouble with an F1 error code that keeps appearing on your display, after numerous attempts of giving your appliance, model# FEFB68CJSA, a hard reset. This F1 error code tells me one of two things. 1) The keypad could be shorted. In this instance you would replace the keypad. 2) The control has sensed a potential runaway oven condition. This can also be caused by a shorted relay. If this is the case you will want to replace the sensor probe itself. I do recommend having a local authorized technician to come out and diagnose the range completely. Hope that this has helped. Best Regards, WP

SOURCE: frigidaire self clean electric stove 'f9' message comes on when self cleaning

I had the same problem. All I had to do was clean around the door lock. A small bit of burnt food or something had gotten into the hole around the lock and prevented it from moving all the way into position. Took a tooth pick and 30 seconds of probing to clean it out. Works fine now.

SOURCE: Interior oven light won't shut off.

Hi, i would check the pressure switch and its connection as well. either the switch is malfunctioning or the wires and connectors are corroded. simply replacing the wires or switch will fix this issue. the switch is usually located on the rim of the inside of the oven door. it will make contact with the oven door and as the oven door closes, the pressure switch is depressed inwards, thus, opening the circuit and cutting power to the light.

Please rate and god bless:)

Thanks a million, solved the problem like a charm. For those that can't find it, it is on the left side orf the OVEN, not the stove. Once you open the door, you'll find it on the frame's upper left side corner, can't miss it. Good luck

SOURCE: Frigidaire oven won't work. top range works fine, but digital clock and digital display stopped working which works oven, so oven also will not work f11 code

Hello steve o - Typically error code F11 indicates a shorted keypad. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually will clear most false error codes. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear contact a professional to move forward accurately. Most likely the EOC on the range will need replacing.

Stopped f1 flashing and beeping by adjusting the lock feature to 12 o clock not oven and self cleaning not working at all

You have disabled the oven feature if you did adjust the door lock assembly. Interesting that the F1 stopped. notsure why myself.\
Usually the F1 feature does not go away unless you replace the electronic/control board.
I wonder what would happen if you set the door lock assembly to where it was before?

F1 Error Code : Kenmore Self-Clean Electric Range. Oven wont shut off. I can silence the F1 alert but it keeps coming right back on every 30 to 60 seconds or so. Range top burners work fine, but oven

An F1 error code usually means that the temperature probe isn't sending the correct signal back to the control board. Try disconnecting power to the range for at least a minute. If F1 displays after you cycle power you may need to replace the EOC (Electronic Oven Control).

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The dreaded F1 error code can be difficult to diagnose but here is the best thing to do
this is from the manufacture of the oven.
F1 Analog to Digital Failure Disconnect for 30 seconds - if display reappears - replace control board F1 Safety flip flop Replace board F1 Shorted keypad Replace keypad Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad are defective when the display reads F1:

    - Disconnect power to the range.
    - Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
    - Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
    - Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
    - Turn the power back on to the range.
    - Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
    - If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
    - If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

    Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

    1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
    2. Gain access inside the control panel.
    3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
    4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
    5. Turn the power back on.
    6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
    7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

    Hope this helps.

Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacment of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

    KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
    F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

    Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal checksum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

    Fault Code F1

Frigidaire oven fault code F1 means the electronic clock control is bad and should be replaced. That is the electronic control board that shows your clock display and is also called clock or eoc, depending on your model.
