Question about Karcher PSI Electric Pressure Washer

2 Answers

Our washer had been woring fine earlier this afternoon. After a short (about 10 minute) break, it developed only hose pressure. We disassembled the nozzle, figuring there might be some obstruction; also made sure the hose wasn't kinked. No luck even though the motor is apparently running fine. It's about one year old. What do I do now?

Can you see my posting: "Karcher - no pressure", also my own comment where I describe my later technical findings - mashed up gearbox. Could it be the same problem as yours, where the motor sounds to be running just fine but there is simply no pressure produced?
If you can't see it add a comment to let me know and I will post you my full article

Will not fill with water cold or hot

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# GLWS1339EC, will not fill with cold or hot water. I also see that you have tested the valve, the water pressure, and made sure that there wasn't any blockage in the water hoses. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why your washer will not fill with water. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Not enough water VOLUME and pressure to supply the pump with a steady flow of water. Water is cavatating (adding air to the water) and the piston is heating up and jambing. Try using a larger size hose diameter and a shorter hose to supply the pump.

I get a flashing F and H

If the washer fills with water, and after a short while filling the error code "FH" comes up, that would indicate the water level pressure switch is not detecting the the water level. First, make sure the drain hose is not pushed to far down the drain pipe.

The pressure switch hose may have developed a small hole or the pressure switch has failed.

Oil pressure light on at idle

i really hate to say but im betting that internally there is components wore over tolerance. most popular is cam bearings wore and leaking by. in most cases lack of oil changes or frequent short trips cause sludge to build up in engine and cause oil passesges to become restricted and the cam being high in the engine, this sees the most slime build up and starves the most for oil... as engine warms, oil thins, and the problem becomes urgent. i hope this helps but sure sounds like you need some internal re working done

When i turn on the washer the water never stops running and it is overflowing into my floor

Hi,

The usual culprit for a washer that will not stop filling is the pressure switch. The switch is located inside the operator console behind the load size, or water level knob (this knob has different names based on the washer model). Before assuming the pressure is defective, however, inspect the pressure switch and ensure the small plastic air hose is still attached to it. It is common for this small air hose to come loose or develop small cracks or breaks. Without the hose installed, the switch cannot detect the appropriate pressure in the wash tub and will not shut off. The result: as washer that continually fills and will overflow. What appears to be a significant problem may only be a loose hose and few minutes of your time. Please inspect the switch, check the entire length of the hose for cracks and make sure the electrical connection(s) are intact and not corroded, then get back to me. I hope this helps you.

PS Make sure you UNPLUG the washer before servicing!

Thanks.

What is an OE error

I would guess that the impeller has come off the pump motor shaft. You can disassemble and push it back on, but it will come off again. I don't know if some type of adhesive would work, but I just replace the pump motor.
Drain water from small drain hose (or by removing filter) Remove the screw in the plastic recess by the filter, then use a putty knife on the left or right side to pop out the recess. Remove two more screws holding pump body to front frame of washer. Pull washer about 18 inches away from wall and tilt it back to lean against wall. You can reach through the large hole in the bottom of the washer base to access the pump. There is a plastic locking tab holding the pump body to the plastic washer base, but don't worry if you break that, as the screws (removed earlier) will hold the pump back on just fine. Pump motor is held onto pump body with three more screws. Replace pump motor with a new one and reassemble. On a difficulty scale of 1 -10, this one might rate a 5.5 or a 6.
