SOURCE: Garmin Edge 305 completely dead

I found that switching the device on and/or off while connected to the computer can leave the screen blank, and won't give any sign of life when the ON/OFF button is pressed. In reality the device is on and the batteries will drain. Try a RESET in that case by pressing ON/OFF and MODE buttons, and briefly pressing the LAP button.

The altimeter requires calibration on the Edge 800.
To calibrate the altimeter:
1. Select MENU > > System > GPS > Set Elevation.

Sounds like your battery has gone bad to me. I also own a garmin. I would suggest you contact garmin for repairs. You can go to their web site at www.garmin.com go to the top of the page where it says My garmin and log in to your account. If you don't have one then sign up for one its free. Then contact technical support either by email or by phone to get your unit repaired.

I hope this helps you out if it does please give me a YES on the web page you just received my response on. Thank you

Hello,

This sounds like an OS issue, but may be a hardware failure. Do you ever notice your HRM disconnect and then reconnect to your GPS? If so you may be losing connection to your fitness device which could effect your results. If your connection is fine I would suggest giving the unit a firmware update using Garmins WebUpdater Software. Here is a link http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp.

Garmin Nuvi 200 - continually updates firmware

I can help you fix your Garmin Nuvi 200W. You will find the newest version WebUpdater if you follow my links, released March 31, 2010. I think you will find between a Hard Reset and the new software, your Nuvi will be better than new again.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

Bpm isn't showed, i have changed the batery and bpm doesn't apear

I just helpped some one else with same probelm, try this see if it works.

In the battery compartment there’s a gold contact that touches the top of the battery (+ve) which was in a position that would never make contact with the battery. I bent it out slightly, made sure the battery was seated correctly (i.e. flat) and as if by magic my heart rate appeared on the large Garmin display!

Also found this..........

I Have had the same problem couple of times (and forgotten each time how I solved it). I figured it out just now and this is what I did.

1) turn on unit and put on heart monitor (make sure battery is good and wet heart strap)
2) using the mode button navigate the menus to: Settings: General: Accessories: Heart Rate Monitor
3) Once in the Heart Rate Monitor option make sure "Yes" is selected and then use the arrow buttons to highlight "Restart Scan" . Press the enter button to rescan for your heart monitor. (I had to rescan twice)
Go back to the main monitor screen to see if you are recieving heart rate signals.

I am not sure why a manual rescan needs to be done every time but it would be nice if Garmin fixed this issues in a unit software update (my unit has software version 2.80

Hope this helps......

Heart rate zones

Heart rates are known by the garmin software as zones, numeroted 1 up to 9.
You can set on the software your heart rate, based on :
- HR max ;
- intermediate HR, linked to the zones.
Then, when you upload a session in the software, you will analyze the zones you ran in.

Another tip : to set on the Garmin itself, the Zones to ON,then Z0 to ON, and Z0 HRM to ON : here you can indicate your HRM low (ex : 165 for me) and the HRM High (185 for example). Then during your session, an up or down arrow will appear, indicate if you run below your HRM low (aerobic zone), your anaerobic zone (betwin HRM Low and High) or in VO2 max.

Hoping that's clear and that can help you.
