vapors should be released by the evaporative control portion of the smog system , check the carcoal canister under the hood , theres a filter on the bottom . or the gas cap is not allowing fumes to escape
OK keep in mind child proof caps. Push down on gas cap and turn. If this doesn't work grab the outer rim of the cap tightly squeezing hard and turning. Now if this fails, you would have to pry off the top of the cap and then you will be able to remove the lower end of the cap with a pair of pliers or similar tool. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.
Derek if its a non locking cap need to drill a hole in the side of cap insert screw 10 mm self tapping screw to lock the ratchet internaly the ratchet portion of cap is stripped an needs to be replaced
Use a BIG or screw driver or pry bar drive it threw where the lock cylinder is or was, and pry the top of the locking cap to get to the threaded part and then just unscrew it out of the tank that simple.
There is either a small piece of something keeping you from fully inserting the key , the lock is broken, or the lock has been replaced and the replacement uses a different key. On my 2009 Ex250 the key turns 1/4 turn clockwise and is very easy to turn. Worst case scenario, you may have to drill the tumblers out of the lock. Even if you undue all the top screws but the cap will not come off. There is one security screw under neath to keep the fuel thieves from just taking the top off. If you damage the cap beyond use you can always replace it with a Slingshotracing gas cap. You could take the tank to a locksmith to see if they can pick it. Hope this helps.
Just above the headlight assembly are two angled tabs, pull these straight up (they may need some effort). These will release the assembly, carefully pull the entire assembly forward. Access to the headlight bulb is behind the two rubber caps, the upper cap is for the low beam. Remove this cap, twist the headlight bulb socket CCW and remove. Disconnect bulb from harness by prying up gently on locking tab on socket, and pull bulb out. Being careful not to touch the new bulb glass surface with your finger, plug it into the socket and install it back into the headlight assembly turning it CW. Reinstall rubber cap, seat headlight assembly on frame, lining up the bottom and top pegs. Once the assembly is fully seated, push the two angled tabs down, locking the assembly in place.
best bet would be to get a new one also remembering how much the dealers charge for there products i would go aftermarket threw partsunlimited, cruiser, or Tucker rocky but the dealer still has to order it for you, all have great quality products at cheaper prices than O.E.M replacements unless your still under warranty.
