Fan oven not heating up

This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  • Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
  • If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  • When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

No heat from oven although fan and light are both working

hello gavin..... Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

This is an inexpensive part and relatively easy to replace. Call your local appliance store to obtain the part and the instructions on how to install it. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Heating elements will not heat and getting an error code E1 F-5

Hello, the lock latch is located directly in the center upper portion of the door. It is a hook shaped latch that lock by turning downward. This lock gets stuck in this position which causes the e1 f5 error code. Locate the latch through the vent holes in the upper front of the oven door. Insert flat headed screw driver into vent hole and gently push latch up to a horizontal position & simply open door. Once unlocked, push cancel on the control panel. This will clear the error code and resolve the issue.

Thanks

Fan does not switch off (had problem for about a week), now the heating element has blown. Could the two things be related? It is a Belling Format 646HBL oven.

Yes both things are related. It is likely the temperature sensor has failed 'on' allowing the fan to run continuously and the heating element to overheat.

You will need to replace both.

The fan oven is not heating up. The fan appears to to be operating and the element for the grill heats up . I had the oven element replaced over a year ago.

If the fan is working o/k, but there is no heat, then it is more than likely the element that has failed again.
The fact that you had it replaced a year ago, does not mean tha it will last a long tiime, it is quite common for them to fail in a relatively short space of time.
Take my advice and fit a new element.
Thankyou.

Bottom Element Open Circuit & Fan Element not working

No resistance in a bake element is a bad element. Replace it.
Most fan come on with a rise in heat. No heat/no fan.

Have a Kenmore Elite oven. When I try to turn on any of the heating elements, I receive an F5 error. Any suggestions? Thanks much.

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
