SOURCE: lg front load washer leaking from bottom of machine

I just fixed this problem - there is a rubber hose that hooks the bottom of the drum to the drain and recycle pumps - it is ribbed and it developed a hole. To confirm and repair (repair can be done from the front of the machine)

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Drain whatever water you can from the machine using the stoppered hose behind the bottom left panel
  3. Unscrew the visible screw holding the plastic in place near the drain hose and filter
  4. If you can pull the plastic recessed piece out, there is one screw visible behind it - unswcrew this. If you cannot pull it out now, you should be able to get it after you remove the screws in step 10
  5. Pull out the detergent drawer (push in the middle back "botton" to release the drawer to pull out fully)
  6. Unscrew two screws in the drawer area.
  7. Pull the top of the electronics assembly away from the machine and lift the assembly out (place on top of the machine or hook it out of the way)
  8. Open the door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door seal (be careful as the seal can be torn)
  9. Pull the seal away from the metal front panel, then close the door
  10. Remove four screws at the top of the front panel (that were behind the eletronics assembly) - If you already have removed the screw from step 4, proceed, otherwise lean the top of front panel out and pop the plastic out, hold panel in place and remove that bottom screw from step 4.
  11. Lift front panel about two inches, swing the entire front panel to the right and set against something - You should now be able to see inside the machine.
  12. There is a black hose right in the middle - when I squeezed mine a little, I could see where the water was dripping out from the bottom.
  13. There are three clamps - two that can be squeezed with pliers and removed, one that has to be unscrewed (phillips head screw - it is a bit blind as the screw faces the back of the machine) - Once I got mine off - I could see the hole.
  14. Order replacement and reassmble in the opposite order

SOURCE: LG WM2487 Leak Front Left

Not sure if this machine is similar to the WM2277, but here is the procedure for that - my leak was in the "baffels" hose that connects the drum to the drain pump:

1. Drain the machine - pry the panel at the front left lower corner to get access to a stoppered tube. drain as much water from here as possible.
2. Remove screw visible inside this area and remove the white molded plastic - also remove the screw behind that plastic.
3. Open the washer door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door gasket. Carefully pull the door gasket away from the panel push inside and then reclose the door.
4. Remove the detergent drawer and the two screws visible behind it.
5. Pull the top of the electronics panel away from the machine and lift up - place on top of machine or hook it out of the way
6 Remove the 4 screws that are visible holding the front panel to the machine. Left the entire front panel up about 2 inches and swing to the right (there is a wire connecting the door to the machine on the right)

SOURCE: LG WM2487 front load washer spews suds out of port on rear.

You are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.

The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port.

I have a LG front load washing machine, about 6 years old which leaks at the front bottom left side. I had General Appliance Inc. fix it. They said it was the pump system. $ 470 later I still have...

its not the pump, if it was you would have lots of water usually, a small leak could be a hose or hose clamp that needs adjusting check that first

Just trying to gain access inside the calypso

Take a small flat head screw driver or putty knife. Put a thin peice of cloth over it so as to not mar the finnish on your machine. Using a flash light look between where the top panel and the front panel meet. There will be two flat green peices of metal. Using your putty knife or screw driver, push on these clips towards the rear of the machine while lifting up on the top portion. Once you get the two clips off, you'll be in. There will be 4 screws across the top of the front panel. Remove these and you'll be able to pull the top panel upwards and remove it. Next, pull the washer forwards and lean the top console back towards the wall until it can rest against the wall without trying to fall back forwards. Across the bottom towards the front, there are 3 5/16" screws. Remove these and the bottom panel will come off. The pump is on the botom right hand side with the two large back hoses attached. I prefer to put a large, shallow container underneath to catch anyremianing water when I dis-connect the hose(s) to try and remove debris from the pump.

LG WD-8016C Front Load Washer leaks from the bottom

Crawls, usually all leaks are visible. Im surprised the repairman did not actually get to the source of it. Your drain pump sits on the bottom and it possibly could be the filter cap, hoses to the pump or pump itself. Another area to check is the despensor. There are a number of hoses to this which could be leaking. The bellow itself could have a cut in it somewhere along the bottom. I would call the repairman back and have him at least get to the source of the leak...Catriver..post back.
