Can i use upholstery thread in my 7570 machine? Do I use it in both the top stitch and the bobbin?

You probably can, however, you would need to adjust the top and bottom tensions to accommodate the heavier thread. You would also need to use a much larger needle to also accommodate the thread. Sometimes, a very good quality polyester thread will suffice.

Thread shred. Pfaff 463. Using 120/19 new needle. And Sunguard Anti-wick UVR bonded polyester thread for marine canvas. Why is my thread shredding?

From my past sewing experience (not an industrial machine), the thread will shred if the needle/thread/fabric are incompatible. Could be the canvas is too coarse and is wearing on the thread like sandpaper. Remember, the thread/needle will penetrate over 10 times before that section of thread actually forms a stitch, so that's a lot of friction going on. In regular sewing, a top-stitch needle has a larger scarf which acts to protect the thread, however, not sure that is a choice for your machine.

Iam sewing seats. but the threed stared braking at the needle & it want saw.

Most likely, it has to do with incompatibility of the needle, thread, and fabric. The force of the needle penetrating the fabric multiple times is actually causing the thread to (wear &) fray and eventually break. There are needles with larger grooves that tend to protect the thread during stitching. Some may recommend a Top Stitch Needle (Home Machine Needles Superior Threads Why Topstitch? The Topstitch needle is the most common needle type used and recommended by professionals and educators. We recommend the Topstitch for piecing, quilting, embroidery, appliqu?, and construction. These needles are available in four sizes to accommodate all thread types, including metallic threads. The Topstitch needle has a larger eye and deeper groove. It is often referred as the MAGIC NEEDLE. It really does make a difference in your sewing experience.)
Why Use Topstitching Needle

Also, if the thread is a tight fit through the needle eye, it will also tear the thread. Make sure that the thread will slip easily through the eye. Go to a larger needle, instead of 90, try a 100.

Be sure to use a brand-new needle.

You may also consider changing the type of thread you are using. Go with a stronger thread, ie polyester, rather than cotton. Cotton will shred and break easier.

You will probably need to re-adjust the thread tension. If it is too tight, it will also break the thread. If you are using a heavier weight of thread, you will need to adjust both the upper and bobbin tension to accommodate the heavier thread.
Bobbin Tension How and Why Tension is Adjusted

If you sewing fabric that is sticky, ie vinyl, oilcloth, you should try to use a roller presser foot, a teflon presser foot, or a walking foot to help the fabric move with the feed dogs.

Thread breakage and bobbin tangles

These might be caused by one issue, or by separate issues, so you need to test to identify it, but that doesn't take long.

You need to take out your user's manual and make sure that you are threading it correctly. You might also want to take your spool out of the spindle on the machine. Put the spindle that came with it for twin needle sewing on the top, and put the thread at the back of the machine in a coffee cup, then bend it around the base of the spindle, and then thread normally--exerting tension at the top and bottom when you do so, and making sure that your presser foot is UP--ALWAYS up on ANY sewing machine. That is the only time that the tension disks are spread to admit the thread, and a possible cause of your problems.

Next, review how you insert the bobbin, and make sure that the bobbin case was properly inserted, and the thread is properly threaded, with the bobbin going in the correct direction.

Also, you might want to switch to either a slightly larger needle, or a metallic needle, which is a regular needle in a range of sizes, but has a larger eye. Also, try another spool of thread to make sure the problem is NOT the thread, which might be old--even if you just bought it, it may have been sitting on a shelf.

I am new to this machine & would like to know how to use metallic embroidery thread. Every time I try the thread breaks

check the tension
if the thread will not easily pull thru the needle eye you need one size larger needle
also keep under the needle plate clean of lint
& also the bobbin area

Top thread breaking especially when machine in reverse.

try this
The machine is not threaded correctly--rethread the machine
The thread tension is to tight--reduce the thread tension (lower number)
The thread is to thick for the needle--select a larger needle
The needle is not inserted correctly--remove needle & reinsert the needle (flat side toward the back)
The thread could be wound around the spool pin
The needle is damaged--replace
Some needles & thread are not compatible--try this

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Similar issue with bunching on the bottom side of vinyl

when sewing thick fabrics and when using thick threads you will usually need to tighten top tension - on most machines to maximum in order for the machine to pull the thread up into the fabric. you must also use a needle which will slide along the thread when thread is through eye of needle (take needle out of machine, put thread through eye and see if needle will pass freely along thread - if not, use a larger needle)
