That is supposed to be in there, but, I have taken them out before and it does not really matter. It actually is just to keep the bobbin from going too fast and feeling loose....

My juki 2000 changes tension when I change bobbin thread

When you change thread, are you using the same brand of thread and thread weight? A heavier or lighter weight thread will affect the bobbin tension. Otherwise, perhaps the bobbin case is worn. Look for a replacement bobbin case.

My Juki LU-563 stopped picking up the bobbin thread, changed needle, took out bobbincase to look for thread, none, still won't sew because of bobbin thread not being picked up.

If you've properly installed a brand new needle that is correct for the machine, threaded it correctly, checked that the bobbin is installed correctly and the bobbin tension threaded properly, most likely the machine is out of time. In other words, the needle is arriving at the bobbin at the wrong time in order to intercept the bobbin. (You can open the bobbin area, hand rotate the handwheel and watch how and where the needle moves in relation to the bobbin to see where and why it is not connecting.) You can search the internet for web sites and videos that discuss machine timing or you can take it for service.

I have a juki tl98q sewing machine for my mid arm. The bottom thread keeps bunching up and I cannot sew anymore. What can I do to fix this? Do you have a diagram to thread the bottom bobbin and the top of...

The threading diagrams are available in the manual which is available from Juki on the TL-98Q product page: http://www.juki.co.jp/household_en/pism/tl98q.html . The direct link to the manual is http://www.juki.co.jp/household_en/pism/img/tl98q/download/98qim.pdf . See pages 14-18 (pages 16-21 of the PDF).

There are a couple of things I recommend that you check. First, make sure that the bobbin is evenly wound. This is a function of the bobbin winder tension; see the manual (page 15) for that adjustment. Next, check if the bobbin case tension is correct. Place the bobbin in the bobbin case and dangle the unit from the thread. Try to shake the bobbin case up and down, sort of like a yo-yo. The thread should advance by a bit. If the thread length doesn't change, loosen the set screw on the side of the bobbin case a small amount. If you get a really long tail of thread, tighten the set screw. See page 21 of the manual.

Next check for any loose threads and dirt in the housing around the bobbin case. Depending on the length of time that you have been using the needle, replace the needle.

I hope this helps.

My bobbin stitch is too tight on my Juki DDL 8500-7, how can I fix this?

Hi LJ,
Look on the bobbin case, and see if there is a small screw. Usually that is the tension of the bobbin. You can adjust that until there is only slight tension on the bobbin thread.
Hope this helps

Juki dnu-1514s The machine is threaded and and the bobbin is loaded. When I sew, the machine does not make any stitches. It's as if the machine is not threaded and I'm just running fabric...

Your bobbin system isn't engaged. this can happen for several reasons, mostly when things are a little out of whack.
The 1541 has a 'clutch' it located near center on the bottom surface and is a silver circle below the 'arm'. Bring the needle all the way down, now push the clutch and hold while you turn the wheel back (top away from you) eventually the clutch will click when everythings aligned and engage the bobbin system again.

Thread and bobben pattern for juki ddl 5550 machine keeps cutting bobben thread

Your bobbin case may be too tight. Try loosing it by turning the small screw a little turn to the left. If thats not it, you could also have a bend or snag in the bobbin case that is snapping the thread. If this is the case you will need to replace it.
