Bottom line, any radiator leak repair in the coolant is temporary if it works at all. It the radiator is leaking/cracked, you should replace it soon before you're stranded somewhere.

If over pressured water tank may split,to release pressure ,close boiler filling loop an open the pressure relief valve ,( will be a vlave with red top) if you cannot find this open a bleed valve on a radiator untill you see pressure guage fall to safe level ,between 2 & 3.

My boiler is providing hot water but will not heat my radiators

It's possible that you have an air lock in your lines somewhere. Your radiators should have a know that you can turn to bleed air from your system.

What is code 34 in a 1991 buick century 3.3 engine?

You MUST replace the MAF sensor as this was a very common failure on the late 80's and early 90's GM vehicles.

I have seen brand NEW ones right out of the box that were faulty so be careful as you might get a faulty one of which will give you the same code again.

Hi wanting to know is it dangerous to keep filling the preshireb up & is it dangerous to do this when the radiators warning up,.... had a bit of drips on the raditor pipes just bled them'' :)...

Are you saying the 3/4 inch valve is dripping and you need to keep topping up the water to maintain the pressure?

If you do this it is "safe" but you will introduce more oxygen in the system with the fresh water.

This oxygen will corrode the radiators and possiblty the boiler heat exchanger depending on how much water you are introducing.

Change the Pressure reflief valve. This is a £10/$ 10 part and will save your system in the long run.

We have a gas water heater but no hot water. What happened? Our house was built in 1994. Don't know the make - It's in the attic. Do we need to replace the thing? Is it safe? Thanks

gas appliances in the attic are never safe.

a water heaters life is 7 to 10 years. if maintained, lifespan can be a lot longer.

would need to know what brand, and model number to help repair, but most likely the thermocouple needs to be replaced.

I would actually relocate out of your attic. the only water heaters I install in attics are electric.

you need to bleed your radiators - air has built up at top of radiators and water cannot flow- there will be a cover at end of radiator on one end or the other- very carefully turn venting cap until air comes out it will change to water and stop- repeat at all radiators- be sure you are turning right part of vent and be gentle - if it feels like you need Hercules strength -you are turning wrong part.At the end of this go down and verify boiler pressure of 15 psi

How to re pressurisecentral heating system

Hi tiger650,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: The Alpha SY24 boiler has stopped working. The pressure gauge has dropped, you need to know how to re pressurise the system once the radiators have been bled

Every hydronic heating system is required to have a presure regulator. Most guys call it a feeder valve. Every one I've installed or worked on had one. It's job is to keep the water pressure constant by adding water when you release some air without over filling the system. Sounds like it's not working. Some types can be serviced, others cannont so you may have to replace it. If you're not sure what to do it might be prudent to check the Repair Directory for a repairman.
