Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

Thermostat just stopped working.

AC was working fine until today, then just stopped. Neither the AC or heat will kick on. Brand new thermostat that was working fine for the last few weeks (Honeywell RTH7500). It said, 'permanent hold' for a while, but somehow I managed to get that off (I have no idea how), but still nothing. We recently had the compressor serviced to make sure it was working properly and all was well. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is the tstat in cool mode? if not hit the mode button untill cool pops up then hit the down airow untill desired temp. sometimes the thermostat has a 5 min delay so be patent. If unit still does not run call the service co. and find out about how long they warranty their service call. usualy one month.

What is causing the fan to delay coming on until the car is already too hot?

It might be the heater core. If it does not help with the cooling and does not give out much heat it may be clogged.

Maytag m6x06f2a like new but doest blow cold air

Make sure the Thermostat is set correctly! The problem with mine was the temp in the house was colder than my A/C lowest thermostat setting.I had my AC temp setting on 66 degrees. The temp in the house was a little lower so the AC didnt kick on just the fan blowing cool air and no compressor working. The next day it was warmer out and the house temp was 79. So when I powered up the AC set at 66 i heard the compressor kick in and the AC worked fine.

Honeywell Thermostat RTH6350 makes heat run in AC mode after AC runs

Well, if it wasn't doing that before then you more than likely know its in your wiring. Cools down then heats back up sounds like the auto change over is on, and the heat setting is higher than the cool setting?

My thermostat when prgrammed and set on "auto" mode kicks on heat when temp drops below set temperature. The problem is that after warming up to that temperature...it does not shut the fan off. ...

I have a honeywell TH8320U thermostat and American standard Air handler with heating unit put in. THE thermostat works fine with the ac and follows the programs I have set. However the heat is a different story. The thermo clicks on to follow program but the unit does not run. (auto settings) If I place the thermo in heat and turn it to on I get heat?

I have a Select Comfort 2000 thermostat. I just replaced new batteries couple days ago. The past week my heat will be working fine all day and/or night then suddenly it will not kick in and the aux light...

Sounds like you have a heatpump. Is that correct? When it gets under 35F or so the heatpump just isn't able to keep up with the heat demand and will require help from a backup source such as electric strip heaters. The way the thermostat works is that the heatpump will work until room temperature gets 2F to 4F below what you have the thermostat set for, the Auxillary heat will kick in to help out. I think I am answering your question, please let me know if I have misread your problem and I'll try to come up with something else.

AC unit not kicking on...

You need a "Y" terminal. "Y" is pretty standard on every heat pump. It is the wire that will energize the compressor contactor at the outdoor unit, allowing the compressor and condensor fan to run.

most likely a thermostat because the pressure on the a\c will be high if engine is over heating or the fans are not kicking on (check fan relay)
