You can install through the USB port, either with a regular USB flash drive with the proper software on it (if you are installing something like Linux), or by plugging in an external hard drive (Firewire would also work for this, if your computer supports it) to read the installation CD-ROM.

Go to company web site and see if there is a firmware update for the unit, you may have to put it in a PC to flash it if there is no mac version.
