Question about Microsoft Windows 95 + Internet Explorer for PC
Have intel P4 2.60 GHz CPU, MSI SiS 661FX MOBO S/V/L 800FSB with 1 GB RAM which I have been using for years without problem. I've recently retired, moved from Houston to rural North Texas farm. Now when boot attempted get 7 seconds of tone, 4 secs of silence (repeats). System has two hard drives, CD and DVD R/W drives, as well as ZIP and 3.5" floppy drive... and a Promise ULTRA 133 card to support the extra drives.
Run W2K Pro... but current problem does not let the system get that far (nor do any boot messages appear on screen, normally there are quite a few as various systems come online)
Currently clueless as to cause and solution. Have checked cable connections, power, etc without resolution.
Help greatly appreciated.
Your computer is failing its POST (diagnostics). open the case and reseat all the cards and memory. make sure your CPU's cooling fan runs when you power up. recheck the disk drive cables and power connectors. good luck!
