Hello there! I've got problem with my MP0603H Samsung hard drive. It is not visible in my computer but in programs like testdisk or getmydataback ntfs data are visible and I back up them. Last...

Wow - Have you tried beating it with a kitchen sink?
The first problem is - Not visible in windows.. Sometimes windows will try to assign an existing drive letter to a new device, because that new device was previously that same drive letter. A common problem with usb drives. Not really heard of it with hard drives, or is this a USB HD?

Go into Drive manager again, and locate the drive by its name, in the lower window. Right click on the drive and choose change drive letter. Assign it a drive letter you know is unused. It should now show up in the windows explorer with the drive letter you assigned. Now you can right click the drive and choose format. If you have trouble with format, then the drive might be locked by special backup software or hard drive password. I cannot cover that here and now. Others may help if you repost with further problems.

I would like to know if I help you. Good luck.

If some of the files came from music services like iTunes or a Windows Media store, they will be in formats other than MP3 and will not be visible on an MP3 playing device.

Are they surely all MP3 files?

My sata hard drive is not detected in my computer

Please check if your HDD is visible in storage management. You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group view and modify most properties and perform most computer-management tasks.
This is for windows XP.

To start and use Computer Management on the local computer:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, clickAdministrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.

The Computer Management window for the local computer is displayed. "Computer Management (Local)" is displayed at the root of the console tree.
  2. In the console tree, expand System Tools, Storage
Then check if your HDD is visible under one of next options.
If it will be presented there try to right click on this drive and format hard drive. After format it should be visible and accessible.

Re magic 8 gigabank: How do format the disc - wipe

You should be able to format the drive by right clicking on the drive and selecting format from the context menu. Normally it will select the same format type when you do this. I would get the properties first (right click | Properties) and then when you choose format make sure it is selecting the same type.

There are other options, but this is the easiest. Let me know what happens.

My san disk 2gb pen is canot open but light is blinking &showing remuvabal disk on my computer

USB Pen or stick drives usually use the letters "F" or "G" drives on your computer. If these drive letters are being used, the USB drive will not be available. Also, if this is the first time you are using the USB drive, it is possible the drive is not formatted. Although this is unlikely.

I will outline instructions below to use the Disk Management tool in windows to see if the drive shows all the drives connected to your computer. If your computer is recognizing the drive as you describe. I am confident USB Pen drive will show up in disk management. You may be able to assign a drive letter and make the drive visible in you my computer window.

The directions for using disk management are listed below. A note of caution, do not make any changes on you Disk 0. or "C" drive, as this is you main hard drive that starts your computer.

Right click on you “My Computer” Icon
A menu will open
Chose “Manage”
The Computer Management window will open

The Computer Management window is broken down into 3 sections. The first section on the left side of the window shows a menu. Disk Management is on the lower portion of the menu. The right side is separated into two sections, top and bottom. The top portion shows a list of active drives on the computer. The lower portion shows all drives connected to the computer. CD or DVD drives that have no disk will not show as active drives on the top section, but can be seen in the lower section.

The lower shows each drive, their drive letter and status. The left section will have small boxes showing drive numbers. Drive 0 is usually your main hard drive. To the right of the smaller section is a larger section which shows the driver letter, size of the driver and condition (if working correctly will show “healthy”) This is the area you can right click and get a menu that will allow you to: open, explore, mark the partition as active, change the driver letter, format the drive or delete a partition.

In this area, you can assign the USB drive any drive letter that is not being used and this will make it visible in windows. A drive this is having a problem may show that it needs to be formatted. This can be done from this window as described above.

Please follow these directions and see if you can make your drive visible. If you have any questions about the instructions or need further assistance, feel free to reply to this message and I will assist you further.

I have a WD Media player and a WD 1tb Hard disk they problem I have with them is I copy Movies to the hard disk but they do not show when I use the Media Player Can you suggest how I can view them Ian...

The movies have to be in the format that the media player can handle. If not, then they will not be visible, leave aside viewing them. You must download movies that are the same format as the player, eg, .mov or .wmv or whatever.

Check Computer Management / Disk Management. Windows on Windows XP, Probably the Drive needs formatting first and partitioning before it will visible on My Computer. By Default the new Hard Drive is "Unpartitioned / Unallocated". So acess disk Management to format and partition the Hard Drive.

To access the computer management and disk management and create and partition under disk management, Check Videos for guide :
