This is a difficult task you would need the tech sheet and check the voltages on the board , compare them to the tech sheet

My Kitchen Aid Dishwasher is 8 years old, The light that I push to start it, does not light up, and I cannot turn it on. All other lights are on

Looks like an electronic problem. Most likely the touch pad. But sometime you may be end up changing the both touch pad and main control board. Also sometime harness between the touch pad and main control board can be the culprit. If there is dirt build up harness then user rubber eraser to clean it out. It will help.

My touch pad will not work thus rendering the oven useless. It will not respond to touch. Is there anything I can do sans a new processor pad?

HI. Unfortunately, the touch/key pad is not repairable. Once the circuitry is damaged, the entire board must be replaced. Most units will have an Incorporated control board, that will have the touch/key pad integrated into the main board assembly. If this is the case, simply replace the entire oven control board. If the touch pad is separate from the main control board, replace the touch pad board.

NOTE_ This may be a simple control fault. In this case, simply unplug the unit, or shut down the appropriate circuit breaker for five minutes. This will reset the control. If the issue's persist, replace the failed component.

Kitchenaid Superba Gas Oven Touch Pad not working

We have a gas kitchenaid KGST307HBL9 and the touch pad is blank, but we discovered that you can still touch the buttons and it will work. (example touch bake; temperature; start). It will beep when the target temperature is reached.

Just so we don't forget and leave the oven on, we turn the oven light on as our signal. A little work, but not wanting to "fork" out the money at this time to repair.

Also, if you are handy RepairClinic.com has many items and can also answer question. We've used them for several of our appliance repairs.

Touch pad doesn't work

ut the tech sheet did mention that intermittent F7 problems are usually caused by poor connections. So I pulled the ribbon connector off the control board and cleaned the copper connectors using a pink pencil eraser. That whupped that puppy! But then I went out on another service call, same oven, different house. The pink pencil eraser trick didn't work on this one so I had to apply some of that famous Samurai gray matter. To identify the problem on this one, I cut power to the range and disconnected the ribbon connector that connected the touch pad to the electronic range control (ERC) board. Then I re-applied power and let it sit that way for 24 hours after which the customer was instructed to call me and report on the error code status of the oven. If no error code was reported, I knew the touch pad was the problem. If, on the other hand, the F7 error code came back, then I knew the (ERC) was the culprit. In this case, the error code did not come back during the test period and, using my keen, Vulcan-like powers of deduction, concluded that the touch pad was defective. I replaced the touch pad and problem solved!

Touch pad does not work

If it stopped working after you dropped it, try this:

Hold the Zen in your hand, and with your thumb, press down on the face board as hard as you can. Use your other hand's finger to scroll up or down on the touch pad. Press down different areas of the face board until you find a spot that, when pressed, causes the touch pad to work. Then, using both of your thumbs, press that spot VERY hard until the touch pad works without pressing.
