Question about LG DLGX3471V 27" Front-Load Gas Dryer

Open Question

Brand new Machine starts with loud noise and than shuts off. Its the second machine

I bought the LG DLGX3471V gas dryer. I connected the gas line, connected the plug to the electricity. The machine starts with a loud noise, the drum turns very slowly for less than a minute and than shuts off. This is the second machine with the same issue. Is it me missing something from the installation or is it the machine! Thanks

SOURCE: LG DLE2514w electric dryer has loud thud every turn

Hi,
Most model dryers are supported at thge rear of the drum with a bearing configuration, but usually the front of the drum is supported by some lining pads or guides. These help hold the rotation of the drum concentric. It sounds like your drum is not spinning concentric. My guess would be that some new guides might need to be installed.
Hope this helps...

Clean any lint that got by the filter as best you can. If you can, get into the housing that surrounds the filter and clean it, but be careful not to damage the moisture sensor.
Check that the duct (behind the dryer) is clear of excess lint and has no obstructions (kink, bird's nest, etc.).

Good luck

LG Tromm electric dryer model DLE5977B is making an extremely loud humming noise.

Humming is caused when the slow start capacitor on the motor fails. Better to buy a new dryer as the motor is usually around $160. Yours is $145. I suggest you take professional advice on such a high outlay rather than risking the advice of someone who hasn't physically checked the machine. I have two pro dryers in my hotel fail, and they buzzed.

I would like to know how to maintain a gas dryer that has been sitting unused for over 3 years, I want to make sure it will be safe to use. Anything I should do before I connect it and start it up?

Providing that the machine was not stored in a wet location or out in the elements you should have no problem. If it were me I would first thoroughly clean the machine, then plug the machine in without the gas line hooked up,start the machine. Let the machine run for a few minutes and listen for the igniter to cycle and for any unusual noises. If everything sounds ok proceed with gas hookup.

LG DLG2251W won't heat up

Your post is from 2008 but I am having the same problems with this dryer, same model. This is an LG problem, for crying out loud LG ---- GET IT FIXED. No more LG dryers for me. My $300 Kenmore works like a charm.

The first LG dryer they sent me I thought was a lemon. They came out and replaced the motherboard on the brand new dryer. They came out again and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't dry my clothes, and the second time they gave me another brand new dryer. Same problem with this one and all brand new perfectly clear ducts. Really?????

Google "lg dryer spins but no heat" on youtube - he explains how to get to the sensor and reset it, but still trying to figure out where to find it on my model. I can't believe I have to go through all of this with a $1000 machine!! Never ever again. Avoid LG dryers at all costs. It takes me HOURS to dry a load of laundry. Wanna throw a dry piece of clothing in the dryer for a few minutes to get the wrinkles out? hahaha think again. The heat will never come on even with the manual (non sensor) setting.

Again = AVOID LG DRYERS AT ALL COSTS. It's not worth the headache.

The dial on the switch should pull straight up and off, giving you access to replace the lamp.

People, the first words the poster said were that the dryer was "brand new". All of your suggestions assume the dryer had extensive use. This sounds like a factory defect issue!!!! My brand new Maytag Cabrio gas dryer is also making an obnoxious buzzing sound that seems to cycle on and off as the gas ignites. The buzzing sounds electronic not mechanical. What would buzz when the burner is active?

New to expresso machine - Cuisinart EM100c

This is a very loud machine. Here's the normal operation: You turn it on, and wait a few minutes for it to heat up, at which point the heating light will go off. Then make sure the function knob is turned to coffee, and it will start brewing. At first, it will make a short (loud) sound and then stop for a second. The purpose behind this is that the machine is pre-wetting the coffee, so that steam can more easily shoot through it in a couple of seconds. Then the loud noise will start again and run continuously until you turn the function knob back to the center. So, the sounds you were hearing were normal. There is a delay between when you hear the sounds and the water starts flowing out. If the coffee is pressed down (tamped) too hard, that delay will be longer. Hope this helps. You made a much better choice purchasing this machine rather than the more expensive EM-200, in my opinion.

LG Front Load Washer Problem

The washer is not leveled correctly.  You will need to adjust the front feet to level the machine.  Run a load of clothes in the washer.  When it gets to the spin mode, check the level of the machine by pushing the front left corner and the front right corner.  If the noise quiets down on either corner of the machine, adjust the legs on that side.
