Your oil sensor is detecting a fault condition, or has become faulty itself.

Normal operation is that the rocker switch breaks the wire going to the sending unit so that engine will try to start. But, once started, if fault exists, the sending unit disables ignition.

Depending on model, the sending unit may detect low oil or low oil pressure. Either way, there is a single wire going to the sending unit, typically located near the oil filter (if equipped). Follow the wire, and you will come to a connector inline that you can pull apart. If engine runs now, and you are sure that you have proper oil pressure and level, then sending unit is bad. Don't run engine without making sure you have proper oil though. You can burn it up in short order.

Voltage regulator, oil pressure sensor is a "shut off' condition. if no voltage+no run. seen this a dozen times.

Atv will not start

Is your choke working OK? Even in the summer time a cold engine needs a littel choke...more gas than air to get started. But you don't need to keep the choke on for very long in the summer since the engine warms up faster. You could try some carb cleaner or even taken the carb off and cleaning it good because it sounds definitely like a fuel problem so it was a good idea to check the pump and filter.

Car wont start have p16 10 code and red ligth key stay on

The most common cause of a non-starting car is the battery. It is either weak, (low voltage) dead, (zero voltage) or has bad connections. (corroded or loose) I will assume you have a fully charged battery with good connections. (both to battery and starter relay)
If you remove the starter switch lead (small wire) from the starter relay and apply +12v from the battery to its respective prong or lead on the relay, and your starter cranks, your starter switch is faulty. (not to be confused with your key switch). If you jump the two large wires together on the relay and it cranks, then the relay is faulty. If you jump the two large wires together and nothing happens, then starter is faulty, or wires to starter are loose or broken. Picture of starter switch prong on the relay is pictured. NOTE: sparks are to be expected, so don't be too scared.

fuel system is faulty. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or if your fuel pump don't run at all, replace the "fuel pump relay". Sometimes your fuel pump will run, but be too weak to hold pressure, which will let your car idle somewhat, but be too weak to run the engine at speed or under load.

If your car is getting fuel, then the igniton system is faulty. Things to check or replace in the order that I would check them are here: They are the coil, igniton module, cam and crankshaft sensors, map sensor. Your car may be out of time due to a broken timing belt/chain, or it may have been loose and jumped a few teeth on their cogs. Check engine timing and condition of belt. These are not all of the igniton components, but the most common items that go bad. The rest of the components and sensors shouldn't cause your car not to start, but affect driveabiliy.

My 2000 Nissan frontier runs great for about 15 minutes then starts sputtering tach starts jumping. Changed distributor cap & rotor button plug wires fuel filter & crank shaft position sensor. What...

I would want to monitor fuel pressure as the engine warms up. But it could also be a coil or ignition module problem, even a relay.
Any chance the check engine light is on ?

I have a 3250 watt Kingcraft generator that won't

Always troubleshoot with new sparkplug. Remove the oil sending unit connection from the coil. The coil should work without any wires connected. Usually the only connections are oil sending unit that will short to ground when low oil condition and other wire must be kill wire to on/off switch. Use carb cleaner spray directly into the carb with air filter removed and choke off as fuel supply. Just a short spray and another short spray after a couple of pulls. If engine wants to start you will need to keep spraying cleaner for engine to continue to run. If engine wants to run, replace fuel with couple gallons of premium fuel to get it going. Hotter fuel will help if the compression is low. Good luck

2000 vw golf aqy engine, starting from cold is a real nightmare its seems as if there is no fuel getting to the engine. when it dose start if it dosen't run the battery flat first. it dosen't seem to have...

It sounds like a fuel pump and/or fuel filter. Couple of reasons - if fuel filter is partially clogged fuel pump works twice as hard. Also this time of year with big temperature swings condensation (water) forms in fuel tank. If its a weak fuel pump, as pump gets old/tired it won't hold adequate pressure and drains back at night or shut down. Try the fuel filter first and run a good fuel cleaner through it prior to changing filter.

1975 Datsun (ie. mechanical fuel pump). Carburettor, electrics (inc. battery all good) fuel strainer all good. On cold start engine needs to be cranked several times. Warm start is invariably immediate. ...

Carburated vehicles ether have an automatic choke, or the very old ones, a hand choke. Yours has an automatic choke. The starting problem likely is a problem with the choke. The problem is almost certainly not the fuel pump.To set the automatic choke, push the accelerator to the floor, and RELEASE. Then start the engine just like you would a fuel injected vehicle. If this doesn't solve the problem, then the automatic choke needs to be repaired.

When i try to start the truck it does nothing no interior or exterior lights, doesnt turn over.if i jump starter relay it turns over but wont fir!!!any suggestions?

A firing problem can be one or more of several things:

The engine may not be getitng fuel.
The coil could by faulty.
If the coil is fine, the spark plug wires may need to be replaced.
The timing could be off.

To test if fuel is pumping to the carb, unscrew the incoming fuel line. It will be the one with a bulky silver connection attacted to a small tube leading into the front of the carb. Place a bottle over the end to catch gas. Have a buddy turn the engine over. Since the fuel pump is manual it should squirt gas out. If it does then you're ok. If not, you need a new fuel pump.

The coil can be tested by removing the middle wire from the distributor cap which is just behind the carb. The middle wire should lead to the coil. With the wire attached to the coil, hold the other end of the wire by the rubber boot and place it near a grounding surface such as the block of the engine. Have your buddy turn the engine over a couple times. If there is an arc from the wire to the motor then the coil is doing it's job. If not, you need a coil. You can test all spark plug wires using the same method except unplug the wire from the spark plug.

If the timing is off then the truck could be sparking before or after the gas is squirted in. The truck should still run, so check the other problems first, but your timing should be check by a mechanic when you get it running.

Hope this helps!

it starts from cold because the auto choke is on ,allowing a richer mixture ,try removing the sender unit in the tank and seeing if the connection from the pump to the outlet connection is ok or leaking causing a loss of fuel pressure

TRUCK WON'T START AFTER CHANGING 2 ROD BEARINGS

Changing the rod bearings won't have any effect on the trucks ability to start or not start. Since you said you did not take motor out or take off head, I'm also going to assume you didn't mess with the timing belt/chain. Also I'm assuming the engine will crank, just not start. If not try turning the engine by hand, If it dosen't move something got messed up when the bearings were replaced. If the engine cranks, pull any spark plug wire off the plug insert a screwdriver, hold about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch from the engine block and crank the engine (hold onto the plastic handle) there should be a spark. If there is a spark remove a plug and check the distance between the electrode and the terminal. If no spark do the same thing with the coil wire. If coil wire sparks you have a problem between the coil wire and the individual plug wires (distributor, cap rotor, etc). If coil does not spark you have a problem with the primary side of the ignition circuit (ignition switch, wiring, primary windings of the coil, etc). If the engine still does not run try spraying (just a little) starting fluid or choke cleaner into the intake (past the air filter). If engine starts you have a fuel problem. You would need to check out you carburetor, fuel pump, etc. If after spraying starting fluid into the intake, the engine still dosen't start, remove any duct work and filter going into the intake. (this will eliminate any restriction in the intake). Try starting, if still dosen't start, remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold and try starting, this will eliminate any exhaust restriction. If engine still dosn't start you are going to have to do compression tests on the engine, and or cylinder leakage tests, and or vacuum tests on the engine. If you get to the point where you have to try these tests you are looking at something wrong internally with the engine (timing jumped out of adjustment, no compression, etc) Sorry I couldn't give you a simple straight forward answer but I hope this gets you up and running.

Please stop using the starting fluid, it is terrible for your engine- use choke cleaner if you need to do this in the future again. you can run it on choke cleaner indefinately if needed.
It sounds like your fuel pump quit on ya. When you turn the key to the "run" position do you hear the pump run in the tank for 3-5 seconds? you should. The fuel pump is in the gas tank and the tank has to be removed to acess it.
you can remove the coil wire from the coil and check to see if the coil is firing a spark. crank the engine with the wire off. make sure there is no starting fluid or choke cleaner fumes around before you do this-k? Carefull not to let it shock you. if it is sparking then you should check the fuel pressure. it should be 60psi while cranking the engine. you will need a fuel pressure guage to do this.
Good luck........Scott
