The orange light shows the battery is charging. It will turn green when the battery is fully charged. The white light shows there is power entering the computer. The usual problem with a computer when there is no response to pressing the power button is that the motherboard has failed requiring the replacement of the motherboard. If the computer is still under warranty there should be a free motherboard replacement, if not, and you are able to do the replacement, you can find motherboards for sale on various websites. Be aware that motherboard replacement for laptops can be expensive if done by computer repair shops.
First thing to do is try to replace battery for a test, usually when phone is often used,it can easily discharge like using wifi or any, then simultaneously charger is plug in.this will damage the battery and can be easily drained.
hey dude.. i am facing ur problem 2 well i solve it by luck first step u should turn it off and get out the battery after couple of hours return the battery back and charge it again dont charge the phone more than 2 hours and use it normally DONT MAKE PHONE CALLS AFTER CHARGING IMMEDIATLEY w8 for 1 day and then it wil be fixed ;) if this dont work go to the store and buy a new ****ing battery ;) this phone have money problems ;(
On Mac iBooks the orange light comes on when it charges the battery. Once the battery is charged it turns green. Im guessing the other powersupply was aftermarket or broken. EIther way, if it starts out green - recognizes the battery isnt full - turns orange for a while - then turns green when the battery is full, then the computer and powersupply are working perfectly. Enjoy your iBook!
hi, if you have tried both batteries with the same laptop and they are giving you the same error code, then it could very well be a motherboard problem, both the batteries cannot be bad, what you can do is try these batteries on some other compatible laptop model to check if they work fine there. Also try swapping the AC adapter as in both case you might be using the same Ac adapter, try using some other good known AC adapter as well.

If your battery LED flashes or is solid Yellow or Amber color, this usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced. The charge light flashing orange-orange-orange-green....-orange-orange-orange-green.... usually means the battery has reached the end of its life and now it needs replacing.
There are three ways to test your battery:
1) If the battery has a button on the bottom of it and a row of 5 leds, then push AND HOLD the button for 5 seconds. The LEDs should all turn OFF, then turn back on showing a pattern. If all five LEDs turn on, the battery is dead.
2) Open the Dell Quickset application (doubleclick it in system tray), go to Battery Meter, go to the battery health tab, and pick your battery. It should tell you there if the battery is healthy or not.
3) Reboot your computer and go into the bios. Pick the Battery tab in the bios. It will list the battery health there.
