You could have a ghost device in the system. Remove the card and start the computer in safe mode. Look at the device manager to see if there are any sound devices detected. If so, delete them. Now install the card and let Windows detect it. You probably left the card in the machine when reinstalling the O/S. You shouldn't have any peripheral devices hooked up when doing a reinstall of Windows XP.
make sure the card is plugged in properly...also make sure you have installed the latest service pack for xp64 bit...because it requires the latest service pack to be installed on the system, only then the sound card will get detected...
for xp 32 bit edition... at least sp2 with Microsoft UAA driver update for sound card must be installed in your computer...
download and installed belarc advisor from searching google.com(free download). After installing it detect ur motherboard no. and processor, etc... After it detect all details u have to searching google.com for appropriate audio driver. try it
The motherboard software does not normally include sound drivers unless the hardware is integrated (which means it's all part of the motherboard). Your question refers to Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Sound Card. This is not an integrated sound system. It is a separate PCI device that has its own software.
Find the EXACT model and you should be able to download the software. DOWNLOAD IT TO THE DESKTOP so you know where it is. Then run the program and it should automatically detect the sound card after you restart the computer.
