Same issue here. I'm debating to send it back as most specs are pointing to the A-B model as being 60Hz. I can't really tell of it's pushing 120 or 60 (ignoring the fact that the screen says 60Hz.) It almost "feels" like it's 120 but can't say for sure. Can anyone please confirm that the "A-B" version is indeed 120 or not? Thanks!

Avol ALT42FD120 - frame rate change 60-120hz?

Hi. It is entirely possible that the set is already running at 120Hz after all. The display 1080p 60Hz is merely the signal it is receiving and the earlier TV's that used to claim 100Hz/120Hz merely did so using line doubling only to give a clearer picture by filling in the blanks between scanlines. If your picture is already very clear, then I wouldn't worry about it

Where do i locate 120hz on my lcd 1080p ? I checked the back i only see 60hz.

60Hz Rating on the back label is the AC frequency feeding power to your TV, the 120Hz is the video refreshing rate of the TV screen.

Display says 60hz always

Ignore it. That rate (60hz) is what the cable provider is refreshing at as the signal is sent to the box, but the TV will then refresh at 120hz. I know that the manual does not state this, but the TV is working correctly. Go to the "menu" and "picture" and set it accordingly.

DOES PLASMA TV HAS 120HZ AUTO MOTION PLUS

This particular model has a 60Hz refresh rate. At this point there are no broadcasts or video sources outside of special labs that can generate enough data to produce a refresh rate of 120Hz. Expect this to become available in a year or so. Please realize that the human eye can not see changes faster than about 30 frames per second. The current standard refresh rate of 60Hz is twice that. The only change you could see (unlikely) would be a slightly smoother flow for fast moving scenes. Typical movement on the screen will not likely see a difference.

Analog out of range

The TV maxes at a 60Hz refresh rate, and the game refreshes at a 120Hz refresh rate - common problem for that game and this TV - you will have to change the game resoltuion to 480i or 480p from the gaming system/pc itself (or change pc refresh rate to 60Hz, and 480 X whatever reoslution).

60hz to 120hz

If you are asking if there is a way to make a 60hz tv a 120hz tv, no, there is no way to do that. The clarity is mostly dependent on the signal and the TV. For instance, if you have a 1080P television and are getting a 1080P signal (from a Blu-Ray player or HD DVD), then you should be getting a very clear picture. It will be a little smoother if the TV's refresh rate is 120hz or 4ms as opposed to the standard 60hz or 8ms. If you have a high-def satellite or cable box, you should get 1080i if the channel is broadcasting that way, but you cannot make the TV do something it was not designed to do.
