Does your Garmin Nuvi 200 or 200W Freeze at Loading Maps?
Does it lock up or stop working?

This tip will describe how to perform a hard reset of the device, and how to backup your 'Favorites' in case the hard reset erases them. The next step in fixing your Nuvi when it doesn't start properly is to update its system software using Garmin WebUpdater.

A hard reset (or Clear All User Data) has been known to resolve unit quirks and strange behavior. It's generally recommended to perform it after a firmware update but is not required by any means. However, if you're seeing quirks and strange behavior with your unit after the firmware update, it is a good idea to do a hard reset of the unit.

Backup and Restoration Procedure for Favorites:

The Hard Reset procedure has been known to delete your Favorites, so back them up beforehand.

  1. From the Nuvi drive, copy '/Garmin/GPX/current.gpx' to a backup location on your computer.
  2. After the hard reset, copy your backed up 'current.gpx' from your computer back to the '/Garmin/GPX/' folder on the Nuvi, but be sure to rename it 'temp.gpx'.
  3. On the next power cycle, the Favorites will be read from 'temp.gpx' into the non-user accessible memory area on the Nuvi where they are actually stored.
Perform the Hard Reset:

*Note that this will clear all user selected settings on the unit

  1. Power the unit off.
  2. Remove the battery and wait several minutes.
  3. Install the battery.
  4. Press and hold (and continue to hold) the bottom-right corner of the screen while powering the unit on.
  5. Continue to hold the screen until the "Do you want to erase all user data?" prompt appears.
  6. Press "yes" and the unit will reboot. This resets all your location settings and user preferences.

If possible after the hard reset, let the unit sit outdoors in the open for about 30 minutes or so to let the unit re-acquire the satellite almanac data.

You have now performed a hard reset of your Garmin Nuvi 200 and 205 series GPS unit.

I hope that helps.

WHAT DOES ERROR CODE f11 MEANS?

Resolution: Error code F11 = Serial Communication Error. Error codes can be caused by a Power Surge or other electrical anomaly, attempt to return the washer to operation by following the Hard Reset procedure below. In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.

Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.

Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the display.

Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the washer, that requires service.

There is a potential control error/there is an APC error.

If the sub code is 0001 As a result of potential control, the drum surface
potential (VL2) of the background is 200 V or
higher (i.e., causing a solid black image).

If the sub code is 0002 The primary charging output used at time of
printer output and the drum surface potential after
laser output is identified as being 200 V or more
(i.e., causing a solid black image).

Fix - Replace the potential sensor unit.
- Replace the laser scanner unit.
- Replace the DC controller PCB

Note. If you are a technician get yourself a service manual before you try anything, you can get one from eBay item # 330407696483

Good luck, keep me posted

Did the self clean, door locked and will not open, has been 5 hours since clean cycle oven has been cool for hours?

Most likely the small electric motor that locks the door is busted. They go out; the entire motor and latch assembly is one piece and pretty pricey. You'll have to remove the knobs, then remove the 2 screws holding the faceplate on, then you can use an offset screwdriver to remove the 2 screws holding the lock unit inplace. If you can move the entire oven out from inside or between counters, you can remove the stainless steel top plate, that makes this easier. But if not, the offset screwdriver trick will do. Make a note of which wires go where (having disconnected the circuit breaker for the unit first), and swap out the units. Then go reverse, and install and try it I did it, took about an hour all told, and saved me about $200 service charge.
